David Woo Close to Two Million

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On a turn of {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, David Woo bet 22,000. His opponent was in position and raised to 53,000. Woo called.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and Woo bet 106,000. His opponent quickly called.

"Did he call?" asked Woo, before showing {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for the nut flush. His opponent dropped his hand into the muck and Woo raked in the pot.

"Did you say 'Nice call?'" a tablemate asked Woo.

"No! No! I said 'Did he call?'" replied Woo.

"I was gonna say, that would have been a pretty sick needle!" laughed the tablemate.

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Ryan D'Angelo bet 22,000 from the cutoff on a board of {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, and the small blind made it 60,000 to go. D'Angelo called fairly quickly. The river was a {3-Hearts} and both players checked. The small blind revealed {a-}{k-}. D'Angelo mucked and slumped his head onto his chip stack.

Matt Bond Busts One to Get to a Million

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Matt Bond raised to 18,000 from early position and got a call from a player in middle position. The player in the big blind moved all in for about 55,000 and Bond four-bet to 143,000. The middle-position player folded.

The player in the big blind was at risk with {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, up against Bond's {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Bond flopped a set, but his opponent still had a gut-shot straight draw. The turn was the {6-Spades} and the river was the {k-Hearts}, sending the pot to Bond and his opponent to the rail.

Bond now sits on a million chips, more than double the 486,000 he started the day with.

When the players return from break, one player will be on an extended break. That player is Albert Daher, as he received a one-round penalty moments ago in the last hand to take place in Brasilia.

From the sound of things, a dealer shouted that a player grabbed the cards. According to one witness, Daher simply rabbit hunted. However, the tournament supervisor took exception.

"This is the Main Event, sir," he could be heard telling Daher. "This isn't some dog-and-pony show."
