Munoz Takes from Politano

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Over on Table 140, the board was already completed and showed {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. The small blind and 888poker ambassador Bruno Politano, in the big blind, checked, and the action was on Marta Munoz in the cutoff. She bet 7,000 into a pot of 21,000, and the small blind folded.

Politano was interested, however, and took one minute before tossing in the chips for the call. Munoz turned over {A-Hearts}{4-Spades} for two pair, aces and fours, which was good enough to claim the pot.

Bierria Triples; Bicknell Gets the Leftovers

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With a flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} in front of them, Kristen Bicknell had two players all in and at risk, one of them being Corey Bierria.

Bicknell: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Bierria: {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Bierria had the best of it, just needing to fade hearts and straight combos. The turn was the {4-Clubs}, and the {j-Spades} fell on the river, giving Bierria two pair and the triple-up.

Bicknell's pair of sixes were enough to win the side pot and eliminate the third player in the hand, softening the blow just a little bit.

Marshall White Gets a Fold from Ellen Lambeth

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Marshall White raised to 2,700 under the gun and got calls from both Ellen Lambeth (in the small blind) and the big blind.

The flop came {J-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, and Lambeth checked. The big blind bet 3,500, White called, and Lambeth called. On the {5-Clubs} turn, the blinds checked, and White bet 9,200. Lambeth called, and the big blind folded. It was heads-up to the {K-Diamonds} river, and Lambeth checked. White put together a bet of 22,200, and after a long pause, Lambeth folded her hand.

Hellmuth's Bluff Caught by Cutler

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Phil Hellmuth raised to 3,200 from middle position, Alan Cutler called from the cutoff, and Louise Francouer called from the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and action checked to Hellmuth, who bet 4,000. Cutler called, Francouer folded, and the {4-Hearts} fell on the turn. Both players checked, the {5-Spades} river completed the board, and Hellmuth bet 18,000. Cutler tanked for a bit before he called.

Hellmuth showed {6-Spades}{3-Spades}, while Cutler tabled {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} to win the pot.

Joe McKeehen Eliminated

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Joe McKeehen was eliminated after getting all in with two other players. The two players checked down the {j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} board, and McKeehen showed {a-}{9-}.

Vuong Do showed {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and McKeehen turned his hand back over and headed to the rail.

Meanwhile, the other former Main Event Champions in Purple are on two opposite ends of the chip counts. The 1987 and 1988 Champ, Johnny Chan is sitting comfortably at 219,000 coming back from dinner. On the other hand, 2001 Champion Carlos Mortensen is sitting just above 20,000.

Mercier's River Raise Earns Him a Pot

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

A player opened from middle position with a raise to 2,800. He was called by Jason Mercier in the cutoff, as well as the player in the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, and all three players checked to see the {7-Hearts} on the turn. The big blind checked, and the preflop raiser bet 3,500. Mercier called, and the big blind folded. On the {J-Hearts} river, the bettor bet 6,300. Mercier thought for a while, asked the player to move his hands to see his stack, then raised, making it 25,100.

His opponent thought for a long time, then decided to fold, and Mercier was able to take down the pot without a showdown.

Dominik Panka Eliminated

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Dominik Panka is a recent faller, and Cate Hall kindly recounted his exit hand.

Panka opened for 2,000 from early position and got calls from Seat 3 and Seat 5.

The flop was {j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Panka bet 4,500, and while Seat 3 called, Seat 5 raised to 9,000. Panka responded by shoving for around 50,000, which saw a fold from Seat 3 and a call from Seat 5.

Panka: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Seat 5: {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Bricks on the turn and river sent Panka to the rail.
