Event #68: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Dia 1 Iniciado

Welcome to the Opening Day of Event #68: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Day 1 of Event #68: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em starts up at 11 a.m. sharp for the start of yet another shot at a World Series of Poker bracelet!

Players begin with 15,000 chips and will battle it out for 10 60-minute levels. As usual, there will be a 20-minute break every two levels with a scheduled 90-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day at approximately 5:40 p.m.

Late registration will close before the start of Level 9 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The defending champion in this event is Andrew Lichtenberger who pocketed $569,158 and a gold bracelet for his win last year. We will definitely keep a close eye on him in the field and see if he can be the second player this summer to win the same event in back-to-back years.

Beller Turns Perfection

Nível 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

With about 2,000 in the pot already, on a board reading {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, Stephen Deutsch checked from under the gun and Eric Beller bet 2,000 from the cutoff. Deutsch thought for a full minute and eventually called.

The river was the {9-Hearts}. Deutsch quickly checked again, and Beller wasted no time firing out a bet worth 2,500. Deutsch thought for a brief moment and called.

Beller tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} for the nut straight and Deutsch mucked his hand.

Dunst Snags One on the Turn

Nível 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

The player under the gun raised to 150 and got calls from Tony Dunst in early position, Niall Farrell in the hijack and the players in both the small and big blinds.

The flop came {q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and action checked to Dunst who bet 350. Farrell and the small blind folded, the player in the big blind called and the initial raiser mucked.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}. The big blind checked and Dunst bet 800 this time. The big blind thought for a moment and opted to fold.

Dunst has chipped up a little bit since he sat down and is hoping to earn himself a second bracelet to add to his already-impressive poker resume.

Dario Minieri Makes an Appearance

Nível 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Italy's Dario Minieri has taken his seat today and looks to add a second bracelet to his poker resume, amassing just under $2 million in lifetime earnings.

He took down the 2008 $2,500 No Limit Hold'em event for his biggest cash worth $528,418, but has been quiet on the poker scene after 2010. He logged between one and three cashes per year between 2011 and 2016, and has not booked any in 2017 so far. Keep following along as we track his progress throughout the day.
