Florentino Coalla Wins a Classic To Double Up

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Enio Bozzano opened the action and Lance Howard three-bet from late position before Florentino Coalla moved all in.

Enio Bozzano folded and Howard called, predicting “a classic race, queens against ace-king?” and he wasn’t wrong.

Howard: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Coalla: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

A flopped set gave Coalla the lead he desperately needed to double up.

Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Welcome to Day 3 of Event #68: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em.

Chance Kornuth continues to lead the way as he goes in search of his second World Series of Poker bracelet. Konstantinos Nanos leads the chasing pack and Jim Gilbert sits third.

Daniel Negreanu is in the bottom half of the leaderboard having had a quiet day yesterday, but he is still well placed to make a run for his seventh WSOP bracelet.

There are 37 players returning to resume battle at 12 p.m. in Miranda and they have all locked up at least $13,129 and are now chasing the first-place money of $645,922.

Day 3 is scheduled to play down to a winner. There are 10.5 levels planned with the prospect of an optional additional level on top of that if play has reached heads-up and both players agree. There is then the possibility of an extra day’s play if a winner hasn't emerged.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the drama as one of the final events of the 2017 World Series of Poker reaches a climax.
