Josh Arieh had a stronger board than Ian Johns with {2-}{5-}{6-} and bet into him on fifth and sixth, while Johns picked up a couple of paint cards but stuck around.

Johns: {x-}{x-}/{a-}{q-}{6-}{k-}/{x-}

Arieh bet the river, and Johns called him right away.

"Eight-six," Arieh announced.

"Eight-six-what?" Johns asked.

Arieh showed {9-}{8-}{4-} for {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Johns had him beat though, as his {8-}{5-}{3-} in the hole meant he played {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{a-}.

"Sure," Arieh said sarcastically. "Sure."

Two hands later Arieh was all in for about 90,000 against Michael Mizrachi who made an eight-six. Arieh couldn't beat it and was eliminated.

Negreanu Doubles Through Haxton

Isaac Haxton raised to 35,000 from under the gun, Daniel Negreanu reraised all in from the big blind for 262,000, and Haxton tanked.

"I'm supposed to call you here," said Haxton.

"I'll show you either way," said Negreanu.

Haxton folded, and Negreanu showed {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

"Two overs?" asked Negreanu.

"Two overs," replied Haxton, who admitted a few moments later it was queen-jack suited.

The following hand, action folded to Negreanu in the small blind and he shoved for 321,000. Haxton called with {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, racing with Negreanu's {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

The board came down {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, giving Negreanu a set of fives to double through Haxton.

Negreanu Triples Up

2-7 Triple Draw

Talal Shakerchi raised on the button, Aaron Katz three-bet the small blind, and Daniel Negreanu put his 95,000 in. Both opponents called, and they each asked for two cards. Katz and Shakerchi checked, and everyone took two again. Two checks later, Katz asked for a final couple of cards. Negreanu patted and shot out of his seat when Shakerchi asked for two.

"Pat against two two-card draws, don't you dare do it," Negreanu said.

Katz and Shakerchi checked, with the former showing a pair of deuces and the latter a trio of sevens. Negreanu showed {9-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} and took the pot.

Brett Richey Eliminated by Scott Seiver

Scott Seiver raised to 32,000 from the cutoff and Brett Richey called from the big blind.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Richey bet his remaining 33,000. Seiver called.

Seiver: {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Richey: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Seiver led with middle set and an open-ended straight draw against Richey's top pair.

Richey picked up a few outs to survive with the {6-Hearts} turn, but the {10-Diamonds} river officially ended his tournament.

Arieh Pays Off Ashton's Big River Bet

We caught up with Josh Arieh involved in a pot with Matthew Ashton on a board of {8-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}. Ashton checked from the small blind to Arieh on the button and Arieh bet 36,000 which Ashton called.

The river was the {6-Spades} and Ashton checked a second time. Arieh put out a bet of 125,000 and after thinking about it for a few seconds, Ashton reraised, making it 400,000. Arieh called quickly.

Ashton turned over {K-Spades}{4-Spades} for a flush. Arieh flashed his cards to Michael Mizrachi, seated next to him, then mucked. That earned a big pot for Ashton.

Paul Volpe was the bring-in, Talal Shakerchi completed, Daniel Negreanu called, Gary Benson called, and Volpe called.

Negreanu checked fourth street, Benson bet, and everyone called.

Negreanu made an open pair of aces on fifth and bet, Benson called, Volpe raised, Shakerchi folded, Negreanu called, and Benson called.

Volpe made trips on sixth and bet, resulting in folds from both Negreanu and Benson (who open folded {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for broadway.

Mizrachi Ripping It In

Michael Mizrachi is short on chips and has gotten shippy. He shoved over an open to 32,000 from Matthew Ashton, who was in the cutoff. It was 218,000, and Mizrachi got it through.

The next hand, Johannes Becker opened button to 32,000 and Mizrachi again jammed. Becker thought about 30 seconds and mucked.

Abdalla Hits the Rail

Elior Sion opened with a raise to 35,000 from the cutoff and he was called by Mike Wattel on the button and Jake Abdalla from the big blind.

The flop came down {4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Abdalla bet the pot, making it 113,000. Sion then minraised, making it 226,000. Abdalla moved all in and Sion quickly called.

Abdalla: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Sion had flopped a set while Abdalla had a flush draw. The turn was the {J-Clubs} though and that didn't improve either player. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and that gave Sion a straight while Abdalla did not improve. That earned the pot for Sion and he collected the chips and Abdalla's elimination brought the field down to 22 players.

Moments later Mark Gregorich was also eliminated.

Shakerchi Jams on Volpe

Paul Volpe, the first to act, raised to 38,000 and got three-bet to 138,000 by Talal Shakerchi on his left. Action folded back to Volpe, who asked what Shakerchi had back. Informed it was about 280,000, Volpe called. The flop came {4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Volpe check-folded to a shove from Shakerchi.

Picking up the action after the turn of a {3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} board, Aaron Katz bet 100,000 from the small blind. Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind and Talal Shakerchi folded from the button.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Katz bet 275,000. Negreanu mulled it over for a bit before he called.

Katz tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} for queens full of threes, Negreanu flashed the {Q-Spades} and mucked, and Katz collected the pot.
