"This is Elder Abuse!"

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Steve Hohn
Steve Hohn

Three of the bigger stacks in the room have amalgamated to Table 721 in the Brasilia Room. Steve Hohn appears to be the current chip leader as he approaches the 300,000-chip mark, with Jean-Luc Adam and Kerry Goldberg not far behind.

Hohn has been using his chip stack to bully around the table, consistently raising and three-betting preflop and taking down a lot of small pots. After Hohn raised and won a hand earlier, another player said "This is elder abuse! That's not allowed," as the rest of the table chuckled.

Eugene Teibloom Makes a Hero Call

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The board read {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} with around 12,000 in the pot already and Eugene Teibloom made a bet of 5,000. His opponent was in the cutoff position and raised to 10,000 which Teibloom called.

The river brought the {8-Hearts} and Teibloom checked to his opponent who bet 10,000. Teibloom asked for some time to think and took about three minutes to do so. He eventually called and his opponent said "good call" as he tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Teibloom showed {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for the only pair and scooped a healthy pot.

Alfred Shanfeld Three-Bets to Double Up

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Clayton Taul raised to 4,000 from the cutoff and received a call from the button. Alfred Shanfeld was in the small blind and three-bet to 21,500. Taul called and the button folded.

The flop came {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Shanfeld moved all in for 17,800 and Taul quickly called. Shanfeld outflopped his opponent with {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} as Taul tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the river was the {j-Clubs}, and Shanfeld found a timely double-up.

Ken Aldridge
Ken Aldridge

With about 11,000 in the pot and the board reading {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, Ken Aldridge got it all in for roughly 40,000 versus an opponent in the blinds.

The turn and river were the {q-Clubs} and {6-Hearts}, giving Aldridge the win and a very nice chip up.

First Break of the Day

Nível 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Players are off on their first 15-minute break of the day. Here is a look at how some of the notables and chip leaders are doing.

Colby Doubles

Nível 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Ronald Swain was in middle position and raised to 4,600. Daniel Colby was in late position and moved all in for 8,900, and Swain called.

Colby tabled {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Swain showed {10-Spades}{7-Spades}.

The board ran out {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs} and after the scariest turn possible for Colby he was able to survive after he paired his ace on the river.
