Martin Wins Battle of Short Stacks

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Jesse Martin raised second to act, and a player on the button repopped it. Martin called and drew two, as did his opponent. Martin check-called and drew two, and his opponent was pat. Martin checked and his opponent bet all but his last 250. Martin tanked awhile and then called. Both players patted. Martin tossed in the last 250 and got a call.

The player on the button rolled over a {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}, but Martin had {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and took the pot, nearly doubling his own stack.

Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Justin Bonomo found himself staring at a world of action in a recent pot when the small blind bet after the second draw, Bonomo raised, and a player on the button reraised. Bonomo had just 1,625 remaining and found a fold after some thought.

He got the rest of it in just after that, and a multi-way pot materialized that had Michael Gathy leading the action on the side pot and eventually showing down {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. That was enough to beat Bonomo, who took his leave.
