Kurtzman called, though. Both players checked on sixth street. On seventh, Kurtzman bet, and Obst went deep into the tank.

"What did you think of that seven?" Obst asked.

"Oh yeah," Kurtzman said. "That seven is good. It beats your eight. I don't think you paired your eight either, because I have two of them."

"Well, I'm just confused at this point," Obst said. After giving the hand some more thought, he scooped up his cards and folded. Kurtzman extended well into the lead after the hand, while Baker slipped further.

Baker Doubles Through Obst Twice

David Baker had the high card and came in for the full amount. James Obst called, then called Baker's fourth-street bet and his all in for 20,000 on fifth.

Baker showed {7-}{2-} for a ten-seven with a seven draw, while Obst showed {9-}{6-} for a queen-jack with a jack draw. Baker improved to an unbeatable seven-six on sixth street and scored the small double-up to 240,000.

Obst went {7-}{7-} to complete his runout to make a {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Baker caught a non-helpful {10-} on sixth but slowly peeled a {2-} on seventh to make a {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}{A-} to double up again.
