Mandavia Wins a Flip, Then Mucks a Big One

Nível 6 : 300/600, 100 ante
Ankush Mandavia (as seen in previous 2017 event)
Ankush Mandavia (as seen in previous 2017 event)

Ankush Mandavia had gotten it all in preflop with {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} against an opponent's pocket threes. The board ran out {q-}{j-}{7-} {10-} {5-}, and Mandavia won with his straight.

The very next hand, the player under the gun raised to 1,500. A player in early position called, as did Mandavia on the button and Kyle Hartree in the big blind.

The flop was {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, and Hartree checked. The under-the-gun player bet 2,500 and was called by the opponent in early position and Mandavia, as Hartree folded out of the way.

The turn was the {8-Hearts}, and the bettor moved all in for 25,600. The player in early position tanked for almost five minutes before folding. Mandavia let out a bit of a smile, and after about a minute said, "This is about the worst hand I could have in this spot." He then announced, "Fold," and showed a pair of jacks. His opponent didn't turn over his cards and raked in the pot.

Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos, sitting in the under-the-gun position, raised to 1,300. The player in the cutoff reraised to 2,700, and Mateos called.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, and Mateos check-called the 2,000-chip bet. The turn brought the {6-Hearts}, and both players checked. The {8-Diamonds} on the river completed the board, Mateos bet 4,300, and his opponent called.

Mateos showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for top pair, and his opponent mucked.

Ghatge Running Good

Nível 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

A player in late position raised to 1,200. Pratik Ghatge was on the button and three-bet to 2,800. The big blind then moved all in for 16,100 and the original raiser folded. Ghatge was thinking about his decision when another player at the table said, "You finally got caught!" Ghatge shrugged it off and called.

Ghatge tabled {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and his opponent showed {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} {q-Clubs} {4-Spades} and Ghatge eliminated his opposition with two pair.
