Phil Galfond was a late arrival to today's event but has already enjoyed a huge boost to his starting stack. Galfond was recently in action where he picked up back-to-back pots in no-limit 2-7 single draw.
In the first hand, Galfond three-bet an early position open of 600 to 1,900 and took down the pot.
The next hand, Galfond opened to 500 and received two callers. Galfond drew one, as did another player, and the last player in the hand drew two. The player first to act led with a bet of 1,300. Galfond raised it up to 5,200, and after a moment, his two opponents folded, and Galfond claimed another pot.
From under the gun, Barry Greenstein opened to 1,000, and both the small blind and Chris Ferguson in the big blind called.
The flop of was checked by the blinds over to Greenstein, who bet 500 and was called by only the small blind. The turn of the saw both players check as the completed the board on the river. The small blind bet 1,000 and Greenstein folded.
Registration for this tournament will be closing at the completion of the upcoming break. If anyone still has intention of getting down to be part of Event #11, then get here quickly!
Ben Ludlow has just been eliminated from today's tournament.
In the previous orbit of Big O, Ludlow flopped a straight against top set, and unfortunately for him, his opponent rivered a full house.
Once the game switched to Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, Ludlow committed his final few thousand with a wheel draw and failed to improve. He was eliminated.
