A player in early position raised to 2,600 and picked up three callers, including Steven Jones in middle position.

The flop came 7♣7♠10♦ and action checked to the cutoff who bet 8,000. The big blind then moved all in for 8,800 and Jones and the cutoff called.

Both players checked the 6♥ turn before Jones bet 30,000 on the 8♠ river. The cutoff quickly folded.

"Ah," Jones said as he slammed down 7♦7♥ for quads. Jones, last year's runner-up, took the pot to send the big blind to the rail.

Benjamin Grise started his journey today with an above-average stack in the Paris Ballroom and was moved over to the Horseshoe Ballroom red section with an already huge stack. He then took down the latest pot against Peter Jaksland when the latter was wise to check behind the 8♣7♣3♣5♣9♣ river.

Grise tabled the A♣K♥ for the ace-high flush and claimed the pot.

Thre-way action was on the flop of 2♦8♥3♦. Preston McEwen bet 2,800 from middle position. Catalin Pop raised to 7,800 from the small blind and the big blind got out of the way.

The turn was the 3♣. Pop led out for 6,800. McEwen contemplated it for some time before he released his cards.

"Want to see the red one or the bluff" said Pop, which McEwen responded the bluff. Pop then showed the 7♣ and claimed the other one had been the 8♣.

Harmon's Bluff Gets Pick off

Gerard Harraghy checked from the big blind to David Harmon on the button, who bet 20,100 to put Harraghy all in. After thinking over his decision, Harraghy called for his tournament life.

Harmon tabled 6♣4♠ for six high, and Harraghy showed A♠2♠ for two pair aces and threes and secured the double up.
