The Q104 flop was a sweat as Bhalla flopped an open-ended straight draw. The 9 turn improved Bhalla to a straight, leaving Leonard drawing dead, and the Q river was just a formality as Leonard exited the table.

Wang Leaves Ramos Short

The Q84 flop was already on the felt, and Felipe Ramos checked to Yang Wang who fired a bet of 20,000 into the pot of 28,000. Ramos made the call.

The J hit the turn, and Ramos took the lead, dropping 22,000 across the line. Wang took a few moments and made the call.

The dealer tossed the 10 on he river, and Ramos checked. Wang announced all-in, putting a stack of greens across the line. Ramos sighed as he mucked his hand saving his last nine big blinds.

Kornuth Knocks One Out Late In Day 1

A player in late position opened to 11,000 and Chance Kornuth bet pot for 39,000 from the button. Action folded around to the late position player who went all-in for 60,000 total and Kornuth called.

Chance Kornuth: KKQ8

The board ran out 310AQ7 giving Kornuth the win with a pair of kings to beat his opponent's pair of tens.

Ivey Can't Beat Aces

A middle position player opened to 14,000 and Phil Ivey defended in the big blind.

Ivey checked on the flop of 10J8 and his opponent checked back. Ivey checked again on the 10 turn and his opponent again checked back.

The Q river also checked through and Ivey showed KJ for a pair of jacks, but it was no good as his opponent showed AA73 to win the pot with a pair of aces.

With 25,000 in the middle, the flop read Q83, and Anthony Hu check-called a bet of 22,000 from Farid Jattin.

The 4 hit the turn, and Hu checked. Jattin thought about it for about 10 seconds before deciding to tap the table.

When the 5 completed the board, Hu fired 46,000 across the line. Jattin gave it a lot of thought as he took about a minute before letting his hand go.

Ivey Makes 2024 WSOP Debut
