The third and final flight of Event #70: $400 The Colossus No-Limit Hold'em at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was the busiest yet, with 8,589 players buying in before late registration closed. That bumper turnout took the total attendance to an impressive 19,337 and generated a prize pool of $2,834,370.

Some 1,057 players progressed from Day 1c, including Vincent Lee, who finished the night with 1,470,000 chips and the title of Day 1c chip leader. Lee has cashed in the $300 Gladiators of Poker, $800 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack, and the $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty so far this series. Those events also had massive fields, so Lee must have a penchant for these types of events.

William Wilkinson (1,390,000) and Austin Alcala (1,287,000) finished their day in the podium positions.

With more than 1,000 survivors, plenty of established professionals and big names progressed to Day 2. They include Dinesh Alt (648,000), Max Kruse (625,000), Angela Jordison (523,000), Matt Glantz (485,000), Men Nguyen (383,000), Amir Lehavot (347,000), Allyn Shulman (298,000), PokerNews Deepstack Championship winner Hector Berry (281,000), Martin Kabrhel (267,000), and Lara Eisenberg (188,000).

Day 2 starts at 11 a.m. local time on July 1, with 2,358 players returning to their seats. Day 1b's chip leader, Lisa Tran (1,680,000) leads the way, but with so many players this event is anyone's to win.

Return to PokerNews for Day 2 of the $400 Colossus, as the players lock horns and butt heads for another 15 levels.
