Murray Gets a Nice Double-Up
Army veteran Norm Murray had had a good start to the tournament, winning a big hand to get up to double the starting stack.
Action started with a raise from the player under the gun, which was called by players on the cutoff and the button. Murray was in the big blind and decided to three-bet, which was called by all three players.
The flop came 6♦3♥5♣. Murray continued for 6,000 into a pot of around 10,000 chips, which got a call from the player under the gun. The cutoff and button folded.
The turn was the 2♣. Murray decided to go all in, which was for 40,200. His opponent thought for a while and then called.
Norm Murray: Q♦Q♣
Under the gun: A♥K♥
The under the gun player needed an ace or a king for the win or a four for a chop, but didn’t catch it and the big pot went Murray’s way.
