De Armas led out for 20,000 following the 3♣7♠3♠ flop. The middle position player got out of the way while the button, who had only 17,000 behind, did not make an immediate action. After some time, however, they decided to wait to take a stand with their short stack at some other point, conceding the pot to de Armas.

Picking up the action on the flop, Josh Arieh in the big blind was involved in a five-way hand with the small blind, a player in middle position, the cutoff and the button.

With the board reading J♥7♥10♥ and a substantial pot already in the middle, the small blind checked. Arieh bet out 40,000 and was met by four swift folds. As he raked in the pot, Arieh flashed the A♥, though he declined to reveal the rest of his holding.

Stroke Leads the Way Late on Day 1

In the latest hand, he defended the small blind and check-called a bet of 6,000 on the A♥K♦2♦ flop. Three ways to the 7♠ turn, Stroke checked again and then folded when facing a bet of 17,000.

Mizrachi Gets Some Chips Back

Michael Mizrachi had been among the chip leaders a few levels ago but lost a lot of his stack. He just recovered a portion of the losses in a heads-up pot when he bet the 7♣7♥4♥5♥ turn for 10,000 and checked the A♠ river. His opponent checked behind and Mizrachi won the pot with the 6♠5x4♦3♦ for a seven-high straight.

Pisarenko Turns the World

Both players checked through the K♣5♣J♥ flop and 7♣ turn to the K♦ river at which point Pisarenko led out for 4,500. His opponent quickly called but mucked after Pisarenko tabled Q♣8♣7♦7♥ for the turned flush that improved to a boat on the river.

Yahyaei Triples Up; Tsydypov Wins Large Side Pot

It all started with a raise to 6,500 and Zhargal Tsydypov called. Majid Yahyaei raised the pot and the initial raiser repotted to 88,500. Tsydypov then pushed all-in and Yahyaei called all-in for 34,500. The initial raiser also came along and the cards were flipped over.

Zhargal Tsydypov: A♦A♥9♥2♠

The board ran out 9♣5♥4♦4♥3♠ and Yahyaei rivered the seven-high straight to triple up, while Tsydypov won the far larger side pot.

Helppi Scores a Big Double

With some 26,000 in the middle, the stacks went in between Juha Helppi and his table neighbour Gabriel Pardo with Helppi at risk for 151,000 with the flop showing 10♠7♣3♣.

Helppi's J♦10♦7♥7♦ had hit a set to pull ahead versus Pardo's A♦A♠4♠2♥. The 6♣ turn and J♥ river changed nothing and Helppi joined the big stacks in the penultimate level of the night. Pardo had a short stack left after the clash and busted soon after.
