The remaining short stack of Michael McKenna was almost all in the middle prior to the 6♥6♣5♦ flop on which his bet of 3,000 was called by Gershon Distenfeld. McKenna then bet the last 1,000 in the dark prior to the 2♦ turn. Distenfeld was briefly confused before it was made clear he only needed to put in one more chip before the showdown proceeded.

Thomas Taylor and Maksim Pisarenko tangled in a heads-up pot out of the blinds and created a pot of around 25,000 to the K♠7♦5♣J♠A♦ river on which both players then checked.

Taylor showed the J♦10♠10♦4♠ but Pisarenko had the best hand in A♠K♥5♠4♣ for two pair to win the pot.

After the hand was over, John Kabbaj exclaimed "oh, Chris Vitch won the 1k PLO?" when checking his phone. Ron Ware burst out laughing because he knew Taylor had been the runner-up in that very event. And Pisarenko still has a heads-up to play for the WSOP gold bracelet against Mike Leah, too.
