Mixed Game Savants Gear Up for $10,000 Dealer's Choice Championship

Today sees the start of Event #13: $10,000 Dealer's Choice Championship here at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.
This three-day event gets underway at 2 p.m. local time, with late registration open for 10 levels (one level into Day 2). There will be 15-minute breaks every two hours of play, with no dinner break scheduled on Day 1.
The starting stack is 60,000 chips, with the plan for Day 1 to play 9 levels. Day 2 resumes Tuesday at 1 p.m. when another eight levels will play out.
Levels 1-3 will be 40 minutes before they increase to 60 minutes for Levels 4-13. From Level 14 onwards, levels shoot up to 90 minutes.
Last year's event saw 130 players generate a prize pool of $1,209,000. The winner was Chad Eveslage who defeated Dutch Boyd heads-up to win $311,428 and his third WSOP bracelet — and second of two in 2023!
“The singularity is coming and this is probably the last World Series," he laughed in a winner's interview with PokerNews. "Not probably, but 10 percent this is the last World Series to ever happen. You know, gotta make the most of it while it’s here ... Nice to get a win, nice to get some of this before we all merge with machines.”

What Else is Happening at the World Series of Poker?
- Bryce Yockey became a two-time WSOP bracelet winner, as did Nick Guagenti. Yockey triumphed in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, while Guagenti took down the $1,500 Limit Hold'em event.
- The $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship is set to play down to five players; Sami Saad El-Dein leads the final 26 into battle (including Scott Seiver) on June 3.
- Raymond Chiu won back-to-back Daily Deepstacks, locking in a place in the top ten of the PokerNews Daily Deepstack Challenge, meaning he'll be playing in the $600 PokerNews Deepstack Championship for free!
