Nível 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

With around 75,000 already in the middle and a completed board showing 684109, Alex Foxen bet 47,000 from the button and action went on William Black under the gun.

"I don't think I wanted that nine. I just call," Black said, tossing in the chips and turning over 99 for the rivered set. Foxen, though, had 97 for a straight to take down the pot.

MacDowall Makes his Move

Nível 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ross MacDowall
Ross MacDowall

PokerNews was waved over to a table to be made aware of a monster hand that just took place:

There was an open to 5,000 from the under-the-gun player and four players made the call to go five ways to a flop of 1088.

The action then checked all the way through the turn 6 and went to the river 3 where Jeffrey Shapiro led out for 5,000.

One player made the call but then Ross MacDowall raised to 37,000, to which Shapiro responded by clicking it back to 80,000.

The other players quickly got out of the way and MacDowall then moved all in for 270,000 and Shapiro snap-called.

Shapiro flipped over 108 for a flopped full house of eights full of tens but it was no match for the 1010 of MacDowall for an even bigger boat of tens full of eights.

Shapiro sat there stunned as a large portion of his stack was separated from him and pushed in MacDowall's direction.

Allen Kessler

Robert Nash raised to 8,500 from middle position and Allen Kessler three-bet to 23,500 from the next seat over. The action folded back to Nash, who jammed all in for 75,000 chips, and Kessler made the call.

Robert Nash: AK
Allen Kessler: KK

Nash would flop a Broadway draw on 710Q, but the necessary jack remained absent on the 5Q runout.

Nash was eliminated while Kessler almost doubled up.

"I only play kings and aces," Kessler commented after the fact.

Neff Gets Revenge on Mizrachi Two Years Later

Nível 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Peter Neff
Peter Neff

Peter Neff raised 9,000 in the hijack before Robert Mizrachi jammed in the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Neff asked for a count. After hearing it was 42,500, he made the call.

Robert Mizrachi: 77
Peter Neff: A8

Two years prior, Mizrachi had eliminated Neff in the Main Event, so Neff was looking to even it out as they went to the races.

The K94 flop was looking promising for Mizrachi, as his sevens were still in the lead. The J turn gave Neff some extra outs as he picked up a flush draw and the 6 river completed the flush as Mizrachi was sent to the rail.

Andy Frankenberger

Andy Frankenberger moved all in from the button. He was called by the small blind, who had fewer chips and therefore was the one at risk.

Small Blind: A10
Andy Frankenberger: AJ

Frankenberger had the lead, but immediately fell behind on the 108Q flop. The 9 turn gave him a straight, which upgraded into Broadway on the K river. Frankenberger added his eliminated opponent's chips to his stack.

Ryan Riess, who won the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event, has been eliminated from the main event this year.

According to his tablemates, he got the last of his chips in preflop with pocket queens in a classic flip against his opponent's ace-king. The runout was favorable to Riess' opponent and he was sent to the rail ten years after winning this same event.

Gaelle Baumann open jammed from the cutoff for her last 34,000. Barak Wisbrod on the button called and the hand went to a showdown.

Gaelle Baumann: 88
Barak Wisbrod: A10

Although ahead, Baumann was in worse shape than she imagined as the small blind announced they too folded pocket eights.

The board ran out 24AJA which was enough to send Baumann to the rail.

Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

The under-the-gun player opened 6,000 and the action folded around to Chris Moneymaker in the big blind who made the call.

"Would you have raised if there wasn't a camera there?" Asked Moneymaker, pointing at the camera crew beside the table.

"I think you know the answer," responded the raiser.

The 976 flop hit the felt, and Moneymaker led for 10,000. His opponent called.

When the 9 paired the board on the turn, Moneymaker fired again, this time 23,000 and his opponent instantly shot his cards toward the dealer.
