Kieu Gets Paid On River With The Nuts

In a heads-up pot with roughly 10,000 in the middle on a board showing J♦10♣5♠9♥, Masatoshi Kato bet out 7,500 from the small blind and was called by William Kieu in middle position.

The 3♣ completed the board and Kato bet again, this time for 5,000. Kieu asked the amount before announcing a raise to 20,000. Kato took a few seconds before making the call and Kieu confidently tabled K♣Q♥ for the nut-straight to score the pot.

No Slowing Down from Smith

There was a raise to 1,700 in early position followed by two callers. Michael Smith squeezed to 8,500 in the cutoff and was only called by Rick Aasen on his left.

The flop came 8♥6♠2♣ and Aasen check-called a bet of 4,500 from Smith. The turn brought the 3♥ and Aasen checked again. Smith fired out a bet of 9,000 but Aasen check-raised to 27,000 which Smith called.

The river was the 2♥ and Aasen checked for the final time. Smith splashed in a bunch of chips, putting Aasen to the test for his remaining stack but Aasen opted to lay his hand down.

Carr Drives the Action

Action checked through and the dealer put the 7♠ out on the turn.

Carr decided to hop in the driver's seat and lead with a bet of 2,200. His opponent in early position called to see the 9♠ fall on the river.

Carr led out once again, this time for a bet of 3,800. His opponent decided to hit the brakes and toss his cards into the muck, sending the pot in Carr's direction.

Sau Turns Up the Heat

Mabela checked the 4♣4♦Q♣ flop and Sau tried 3,300, which Mabela called.

Agarwal Jams into Thibodeau

The action was caught on this monster hand as the completed board read 4♥7♠10♥J♠Q♠ with around 47,000 already in the middle.

Jacob Thibodeau then led out for 12,000 and Aditya Agarwal was in the tank for a good bit before he announced he was all in for 41,600 total.

Then it was Thibodeau's turn to go into the tank, for an even longer time than his adversary. After around 3 minutes, he finally tossed his cards face-up into the muck, showing 9♣8♣ for the nut straight on the turn. Agarwal then revealed the A♠ as he slid his cards to the dealer and collected the large pot. The table then speculated as to what he could have possibly had, with several different theories.

Henson Hits the Rail

In a three-way pot, the flop was 4♠Q♥9♦ when the small blind checked to Will Serra who bet 3,200. Ray Henson shoved for his last 11,000 and it folded to Serra who quickly called:

Henson had good hopes for a double up but the rest of the board fell the 10♦ and the J♠ to give a straight to Serra and eliminate Henson from the tournament.

Duveau Makes Big Call on River

Klodnicki Picks One Off, Auker Sends One Out

Five players went to the turn on a board of 6♠2♦2♣10♣ when the big blind bet 2,700 and was called by Chris Klodnicki in early position and another opponent in the cutoff.

The river came the Q♠ and action checked around to the cutoff, who bet 4,200. The big blind tanked for about a minute before folding, but Klodnicki quickly confirmed the amount and tossed the chips in the middle.

He showed K♣Q♣ for two pair on the river and his opponent mucked a ten as Klodnicki took the pot.

The next hand at this table, Ilavenil Arumugam moved all in for around 15,000 and Ken Auker called.

The player in the big blind checked again on the 6♦ turn and Moneymaker bet 3,000. The player in the cutoff called and the big blind folded.

The J♥ completed the board and Moneymaker fired again — this time for 8,000. His opponent folded and Moneymaker, who has had a bit of a late-night surge, chipped up to around 160,000.

Smith Mucks Kings on the Flop

Jamie Smith raised under the gun to 1,300 and the button called, as well as Katie Swift in the small blind before Alexander Greenblatt three-bet to 6,000 in the big blind. Smith called, and the other two players got out of the way.

The dealer fanned a flop of A♥Q♣6♣, and Greenblatt continued for 6,000. Smith thought about it for about 10 seconds before folding his K♠K♥ face up. Greenblatt didn't let him know if it was a good fold or not as he pitched his cards into the muck.
