Day 3 of Event #85: $1,500 Shootout No-Limit Hold'em is scheduled for an 11 a.m. local time restart at the 2023 World Series of Poker in the Horseshoe Events Center.

The final table consists of the ten players who were fortunate and skilled enough to win their tables on Day 1 and Day 2. These players are already guaranteed a minimum payday of $19,003, but all will return with their eyes on the first place prize of $237,367 and the prestigious WSOP bracelet.

The action promises to be captivating, given the star-studded cast of this final. For Adam Friedman, it would be his sixth bracelet, while Yuri Dzivielevski will be going for his fourth bracelet and second in this series after he won Event #47: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. for $207,688.

The interesting line-up doesn't stop there, as it also features poker coach and experienced player Faraz Jaka, Edward Mroczkowski, who cashed in four events this series, Olga Iermolcheva and Michael Finstein, who both have more than $500,000 in career live earnings, and Ao Chen, French Matteo Cavelier , Brazilian Allan Mello and Mo Zhou to complete the picture.

Play will begin at 11 a.m. local time with blinds starting at 15,000/30,000 with a 30,000 big blind ante. Levels will last 40 minutes with a 15-minute break after every third level. The time of the dinner break is to be determined. Action will continue until a champion receives the gold!

Friedman Attacks the Flop

Action was opened in middle position by Olga Iermolcheva to 60,000. The action then folded to Adam Friedman in the big blind who defended.

The 9♥3♣5♠ flop hit the felt and action was checked to Iermolcheva. She continued for 105,000 and action was back on Friedman who went into the tank.

After about a minute Friedman put in the raise to 340,000. Iermolcheva thought it over but eventually folded and Friedman collected the pot.

Finstein Goes Big on the Turn

Action was opened from the cutoff to 80,000 by Michael Finstein. It then folded to Mo Zhou in the big blind who defended and they were off to a flop.

The 7♣A♦Q♠ flop hit the felt and Zhou check-called a 60,000 bet from Finstein. The turn brought a 5♠ and action checked to Finstein again. He took his time and eventually landed on an overbet sizing to 350,000.

Zhou thought it over but eventually mucked and Finstein took it down.

Iermolcheva Hits the Big-Bet Button

Action was opened under the gun by Adam Friedman to 80,000. Olga Iermolcheva was in middle position and called. The button called and the big blind defended.

The Q♦7♠2♥ flop hit the felt and Friedman continued for 135,000. Iermolcheva called and the other two players folded.

The 10♣ landed on the turn and Friedman slowed down and checked. Iermolcheva didn't think for long before putting out a large bet to the size of 400,000.

Friedman cut out the chips and thought for a moment but eventually he pitched his cards to the muck rather than calling.

Iermolcheva dragged a big pot without showdown.

Zhou Takes a Slice of Mello's Stack

Allan Mello raised to 125,000 and Mo Zhou three-bet next to him to 350,000. It came back to Mello who looked at his stack and ended up up making a four-bet for 575,000. After a minute, Zhou called.

The flop brought 7♦9♣6♠ and Mello continued for 250,000, which Zhou called.

On the J♥ turn, Mello tanked for a while and checked. Zhou opted to bet 400,000 and Mello eventually let it go.

First Hand Back From Break

On the first hand back from break Mo Zhou opened under the gun to 160,000. It folded all the way to current chip leader Allan Mello in the big blind who went into the tank.

After a moment he asked for a count of Zhou's chips. He got his answer and didn't waste much time before putting in a cold three-bet to 650,000.

Zhou thought it over for about a minute before releasing his cards back to the dealer. Mello is still in the drivers seat at this final table.

Edward Mroczkowski Eliminated in 10th Place ($19,003)

Edward Mroczkowski raised under the gun to 175,000 and Matteo Cavelier made a three-bet worth 450,000 in the cutoff. It came back to Mroczkowski who eventually called.

The dealer brought a flop A♠3♥Q♣ and after some thought, Mroczkowski check-called Cavelier's continuation worth 200,000. Both checked on the 6♠ turn.

Things heated on the 7♥ river. Mroczkowski tanked for some time and ended up betting 200,000 after the clock has been called. Cavelier replied by announcing all in and Mroczkowski snap-called for his remaining stack worth 1,000,000.

Mroczkowski tabled Q♠Q♦ for a set of queens but had the bad surprise to see A♣A♥ in Cavelier's hands for a set of aces and Mroczkowski made his way to the payout desk to collect his $19,003.

Cavelier Hurts Melo's Stack

Michael Finstein started the action with a raise to 160,000 and Allan Mello decided to three-bet to 400,000 next to him. It folded to Matteo Cavelier in the big blind who sent a four-bet worth 1,000,000. Finstein let it go but Mello took a minute and five-bet to 1,600,000, which Cavelier called.

With already more than 3,200,000 in the pot, the flop showed 2♠J♠5♥ and Mello made a small bet worth 325,000 after Cavelier checked. Cavelier thought about his move for some time and jammed.

Mello went deep into the tank and after a few minutes, he reluctantly sent his cards into the muck.

The dealer burned and rolled over a six right in the window before fanning out 6♠5♥3♠. Iermolcheva jumped in to the lead and got a clean J♠ turn and 5♣ river.
