Scott Eskenazi endured a roller-coaster ride after the break, as his chip stack went up and down.

He battled back for a double up early in Level 28 before getting involved in a hand in Level 29 against John Armbrust, who had one of the bigger stacks at the table.

Armbrust raised in early position, and then Eskenazi re-raised out of the small blind. With action back to him, Armburst made the call and both players saw 2♦2♣9♠ hit the board.

Eskenazi bet, and Armbrust called. With 10♠ on the turn. Eskenazi continued an aggressive line by betting, but Armbrust once again called.

The river produced 7♠, prompting Eskenazi to move all in with his remaining chips.

“I got there,” Armbrust said as he tabled A♠6♠ for the nut flush.

Eskenazi tapped the felt and tabled J♠J♥ as he was sent to the rail in 10th place for $8,609.

With the tournament down to nine, the players merged into a single table.

Some of the Best Poker Players Who Haven't Won a WSOP Bracelet

While winning a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet is one of the greatest accomplishments a poker player can achieve, many of the greatest and most successful players in the game have yet to put one on their wrists.

PokerNews has had a decent track record with highlighting players without bracelets who have gone on to win them. Jason Koon won a maiden bracelet in 2021 after making the "Best Without a Bracelet" list that year, while Dan Smith and Alex Foxen both found bracelets in 2022 to be removed from that year's list.

Both players checked through to the J♣ river before again checking through to showdown.

Celaya turned up the winning hand and dragged the pot in as Armbrust tossed his cards toward the muck.

The flop brought 10♦5♦4♦, putting Vangchailued ahead with a pair of fours. Sabishchenko, however, spiked a set on the turn when 3♦ showed up.

The river was the 8♥, which sent Vangchailued to the rail in sixth place for $24,225.

The hands were turned up and the dealer put the inconsequential 9♥ out on the river to make it official as what began as an accidental registration in the wrong event ends with a 5th place finish for $32,840.

“I don’t think you have the queen,” said Celaya, who made the call.

The turn produced 2♦, which Shlez bet.

Celaya went into deep thought, counting out his remaining chips and cracking jokes with the players at the table, before making the call. He saw the bad news knowing he was down to two outs when Shlez tabled his hand.

The river brought out 9♣, which sent Celaya to the rail in fourth place for $45,301.

The flop came 9♣A♠5♥, keeping Welsh in the lead, but when the J♠ hit the turn, Welsh needed help going to the river to survive.

The 4♠ didn't offer any improvement as Welsh finishes in 3rd place for $63,577 and sends the match into heads up play.
