Tang Sun Running into the Chip Lead

Nível 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Danny Tang
Danny Tang

Danny Tang opened to 60,000 from the cutoff and Yunsheng Sun three-bet to 200,000. Tang four-bet to 480,000 and Sun immediately announced all in for about 1,600,000. Tang snap-called to put him at risk.

Yumsheng Sun: AK
Danny Tang: AA

Both players had a monster hand but Sun was in dire straits against Tang's aces. He only runner outs on the Q49 flop and the 8 turn left him drawing dead. The river was an inconsequential 6 and Tang scooped in a pot worth nearly four million, taking the chip lead while Sun was sent to the rail.

Ustimov Doubles Through Chen

Nível 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

In the cutoff, Viktor Ustimov moved all in for 190,000 chips. Michael Colbert on the button folded, as well as the big blind. But Chuanshu Chen in the small blind called.

Viktor Ustimov: 66
Chuanshu Chen: A2

No ace came on the board 5J87J, and not enough spades to make a flush either, so the hand ended in a double up for Ustimov.

Dzivielevski Wins Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Nível 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Vitor Dzivielevski
Vitor Dzivielevski

Ren Lin moved all in from under the gun for about 350,000. Nozomu Shimizu reraised to 2,000,000 from the cutoff, committing about two thirds of his stack. Vitor Dzivielevski announced all in, covering both players. Shimizu made the call to put himself at risk and the three players went to the flop with nearly eight million chips in the middle.

Ren Lin: 33
Nozomu Shimizu: 77
Vitor Dzivielevski: QQ

Dzivielevski had the best of it with the highest pocket pair. The flop came 434 to give Lin a flopped full house, but there was still a massive side pot to contend for between Shimizu and Dzivielevski, who had started the pot with approximately three million each.

"Seven!" Shimizu shouted as the rest of the board was dealt.

The turn came the K and the river came the 8. Lin secured a triple up while Dzivielvski scooped the rest to take the chip lead as well as the biggest pot of the tournament so far, sending Shimizu to the rail in the process.

Deuce On The River For Lakhdari

Nível 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Everybody folded to Fabrice Bigot in the small blind, who decided to raise to 180,000, with only 30,000 chips remaining in his stack. In the big blind, Omar Lakhdari raised to 430,000 to force him to go all in.

As there was a pay jump, Bigot waited a few minutes to see if someone was out. But no one was eliminated by the time the break was called, so Bigot put his last chips in the middle.

Fabrice Bigot: AQ
Omar Lakhdari: K2

Bigot's hand held on the flop 1098 and on the turn 6. However, the river 2 was terrible for him, as it gave a pair to Lakhdari.

Szecsi Puts the Pressure on Ferreira

Nível 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action was picked up on the flop with the board reading KJ4. Norbert Szecsi had bet 125,000 from the big blind and Douglas Arauj Ferreira had raised to 300,000, receiving a call from Szecsi.

The turn was the 5. Szecsi checked and Ferreira fired a 525,000 bet. Szecsi moved all in with a covering stack and after about one minute Ferreira made the fold.

Patience Rewarded

Nível 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Valeriano Toledano opened to 80,000 in middle position, then was raised by Norbert Szecsi in the cutoff. Like on every decision he had, Toledano took a long moment to call.

On the flop J6Q, Toledano checked, and Szecsi did the same. But on the turn Q, Toledano bet 250,000 after a minute of reflection. Szecsi also thought about his decision for a minute but folded.

A few hands later, he was involved in an "all in and call" situation against Douglas Ferreira, who was at risk for 600,000 chips.

Douglas Ferreira: KQ
Valentino Toledano: QQ

Toledano only had to avoid a king to kick Ferreira out. That is what happened on 399A10. Toledano now has almost 2 million chips.
