Some 260 players began play at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, looking to make their mark on the 2023 World Series of Poker. For 28 players, that dream continues into Day 3, as today's Day 2 action in Event #62: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha has concluded.

Among the chip leaders is four-time bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi, who bagged 3,100,000. Mizrachi, the 2007 $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha champion, has six cashes so far this summer and looks to add another bracelet to his already-impressive resume.

Sitting atop the leaderboard is Eran Carmi. Carmi, out of Tel Aviv, Israel, bagged 4,225,000. He has a WSOP circuit ring to his name, having won WSOPC Event #9: €2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed earlier this year. He also will look to improve upon his third-place finish in the 2022 WSOP Europe Pot-Limit Omaha event.

Coming back for Day 3 is the ever-talkative Martin Kabrhel, who will look to spin up his short stack. Kabrhel was among the chip leaders for the majority of Day 2 and knows how to make a comeback - even when calling the wrong hand.

Action will resume at 1:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, June 29, at Level 26, with blinds at 30,000/60,000 with a 60,000 big blind ante. The 28 remaining players will play down to a winner, who will take home the top prize of $410,659 and a WSOP bracelet. Stay tuned to PokerNews as a champion is crowned!

Martin Kabrhel raised to 25,000 from middle position and was called by Robert Wells on the button and Matthew Bretzfield in the big blind.

All three players checked the J83 flop, as well as the 5 turn.

"No one has anything," mentioned Kabrhel after betting out 111,000 on the 8 river.

"I can't win, I run so bad," Kabrhel continued while Wells contemplated a call.

Wells would put in the calling chips and Bretzfield folded, with Kabrhel showing J10 and Wells mucking.

"That was decent poker, PokerNews." Concluded Kabrhel.

Action was joined with the board showing 3248A. Martin Kabrhel, the cutoff, tossed in a small bet of 16,000. Motoyoshi Okamura, the small blind, made the call and showed AQ77 for a pair of aces.

"Flush," said Kabrhel, exposing 10862. "Oh wait, I misread my hand!" he told the table with a slight smile. Despite announcing his hand incorrectly, Kabrhel's two pair gave him the pot. He raked in his chips while telling the dealer to increase the lighting on his table so that he does not misread his cards again.

Day 2 of Event #62: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha is set to begin at 1 p.m. local time, as 260 players continue to compete for a top prize of $410,659 and a coveted bracelet at the 2023 World Series of Poker.

Yesterday's record-breaking field of 2,076 entrants at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas created a total prize pool of $2,771,460. With the money bubble having burst just bfore the end of Day 1, eliminations are sure to be quick when play resumes. Those eliminated early in the day will make a minimum of $2,628, with that number rising throughout the day as more are sent to the payout window.

Among the chipleaders is 2016 $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better bracelet winner David Prociak, who bagged 518,000 chips. In addition to his WSOP title, he has won two WSOP circuit events in Pot-Limit Omaha as well as a fourth-place result in the $5,000 variant of this event in 2021. He is among only eight players to be above the 500,000-chip mark and is no stranger to making final tables.

At the top of the mountain coming into play today is Justin Jones, out of Rockdale, Texas. Jones bagged an impressive 756,000 chips, giving him a massive 126 big blinds. He has already cashed in Event #31: $600 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack this year and looks to improve upon his 90th-place result in Event #41: $1,500 Big O.

Close behind Jones is Philip Wiszowaty, who will bring 708,000 chips into Day 2. Wiszowaty's biggest WSOP cash came just three days ago as he took home $68,722 with his 24th-place finish in Event #57: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha. With a strong performance today, he could set himself up to top that number.
