Day 3 of Event #38: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship Gets Underway at 10 AM

The record-breaking Event #38: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em Championship has come to the business end of the tournament as the 8,180 entrants, creating a prize pool of $7,280,200, have been whittled down to only 217. Those who still have a shot at the dream to pick up the coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet and a cool $765,731 will return to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas today to do battle on the felt.

Leonard Clementi comes into Day 3 with the chip lead amassing an incredible 4,200,000 chips. This is Clementi's first-ever WSOP cash and will be looking to make it to the final table. Chun Li is second in chips with 3,165,000 and David Palm is third with 2,335,000.

There are several big names still in contention for the title. Mike Matusow will be looking to win his first bracelet in ten years. Men Nguyen will be looking to grab his eighth WSOP Bracelet, Victor Ramdin is on the hunt for his first bracelet, while Allen Kessler and JJ Liu return with short stacks.

Play will resume at 10 a.m. local time at Horseshoe where play will start at Level 22 with the blinds at 10,000/25,000 and a big blind ante of 25,000. There are ten 60-minute levels scheduled, with a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 27.

Martino Lands on the Right Side of a Cooler

With the pot at approximately 150,000 the board read Q49.

Christian Munk in the small blind checked the action to Fiodor Martino in early position. Martino bet out for 35,000 and Munk check-raised to 110,000. Martino called.

The A on the turn saw a second check-raise from Munk, this time raising Martino's bet of 155,000 to a jam for the rest of Munk's stack. Martino snap-called.

Galasso Wins Big All In Early

There was an under the gun open to 60,000 by Anthony Johnson. The next player to act was Mikhail Drobiz who went all in for 550,000. It then folded to Louis Galasso on the button, who went all in with enough chips to cover the remaining players.

Johnson got out of the way and the cards hit their backs.
