Phil Ivey could make history Thursday at the $50,000 Poker Players Championship if he were to take down the bracelet, which would be his first title at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) since 2014.

The widely accepted poker G.O.A.T. is one of three players — Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson are the others — tied for second all-time with 10 WSOP bracelets. Phil Hellmuth, with 16 titles, is the record holder. But there could be just one player sitting in second place within the next 24 hours.

Normand Takes it Down With Queens

Frederic Normand raised to 120,000 from under the gun with Yang Zhang having three bet to 330,000 from late position. Normand made the call as both players headed to the flop.

The flop came 2♣4♣6♣ as Normand made a quick check to Zhang. He led out for 240,000 and Normand found a call.

With the 2♦ having peeled off on the turn, Normand once again checked. Zhang fired for 580,000 and received a call from Normand.

The river was the 5♦ and both players checked around. Normand showed Q♠Q♥ to take down the pot.
