Boujmala Finds Aces (Again)

One hand after busting James Mendoza, Samy Boujmala found himself in the same configuration, once again to his advantage.

A player open-shoved for a stack worth 142,000 and Boujmala, seated next to him, didn't take long to make the call. The rest of the table folded to create the following showdown:

"Again!" said other players at the table, before the dealer showed a board J7759, giving the pot to Boujmala who scored another elimination in a few minutes

Fernandez Comes Out on Top

One players raised to 84,000 in early position, leaving just 1,000 chips behind. David "ODB" Baker flat-called in the cutoff and Leo Fernandez reshoved all in for 270,000 on the button. The action was back on Baker who tanked for over two minutes before Fernandez called the clock. Baker finally decided to fold and the other two hands were tabled.

The board ran out Q66108 and Fernandez had a lock on the pot by the turn to eliminate his opponent.

"Thanks for that," Baker tapped the table. "You saved me 200,000."

There was a raise to 25,000 in middle position and Daniel Negreanu called from the big blind. The flop came 1083 and Negreanu check-called a bet from his opponent.

The turn brought the 7 and both players checked to the K on the river. Negreanu led out with a bet of 125,000 on the river which put his opponent in the tank. After a couple of minutes, he eventually called and Negreanu tabled 96 for a straight to claim the pot.

From the cutoff, 2023 WSOP and EPT finalist Samy Boujmala raised to 78,000 after James Mendoza opened to 27,000 from under the gun.

When the action returned to him, Mendoza went all-in for 416,000 chips, and Boujmala snap called.

It was the perfect timing for Boujmala as he scored a big double-up on 9Q36J. With only 9,000 chips remaining, Mendoza was eliminated on the following hand.

The turn fell the K and Ahuja check-folded this time after another bet from Negreanu worth 50,000.
