In the next hand, Hellmuth limped in from early position and the action folded around to Phil Ivey in the small blind, who put in a raise to 70,000.
"You have two eights?" asked Hellmuth.
"I have two tens," Hellmuth commented before turning over 10♦10♠ while folding to Ivey's raise.
The next hand saw Hellmuth in the big blind. Ray Dehkharghani limped in from the small blind and Hellmuth checked his option. Dehkharghani check-folded to a 35,000 bet from Hellmuth on a 2♦2♠4♠ flop.
In the subsequent hand, Hellmuth called a late position raise from Phil Ivey for 35,000, then check-folded to a 35,000 bet on 10♦2♠2♥.
