Bonomo Takes One off Mateos in Cold Four-Bet Pot After Small Flop Raise

PokerNews picked up the action after Justin Bonomo three-bet an early position raise of 16,000 to 75,000 on the button and Adrian Mateos cold four-betting to 215,000 from the small blind. The early position raiser would get out of the way and Bonomo called.

Mateos continuation bet 105,000 on a flop of A♦8♠9♠ and Bonomo raised to 325,000. After utilizing one of his time banks, Mateos would release his hand into the muck.

Shakerchi Takes Control from the Big Blind

Phil Ivey opened to 13,000 from under the gun and picked up four callers along the way, including Isaac Haxton on his left. Talal Shakerchi three-bet to 131,000 from the big blind and only Haxton stuck around to see a flop.

The flop came 10♠7♣2♥ and Shakerchi led out with a bet of 56,000. Haxton called and the 6♦ rolled off on the turn. Shakerchi threw in another bet of 155,000 and Haxton finally dispatched his cards.

Quads for Steven

The action picked up on the 10♣ turn card for a board reading 5♦Q♥4♣10♣ in a hand between Brandon Steven and Talal Shakerchi.

Steven had put out a bet of 27,000 and was raised by Shakerchi to 105,000. Steven thought for a moment before re-raising to 237,000. Shakerchi would make the call and the dealer delivered the 10♦ on the river.

Steven bet 375,000 and Shakerchi quickly folded, prompting Steven to table his hand and announce, "just got four of these," while showing the other two tens.

Chris Brewer opened to 13,000 and was called by Alex Kulev and Mikita Badziakouski. Steven Veneziano three-bet to 58,000 from the blinds and only Kulev called.

The flop came 9x7x5x and Veneziano led out with a bet of 83,000. Kulev called and the 2♣ landed on the turn, putting two clubs on the board. Veneziano tossed in another bet of 126,000 and Kulev raised to 440,000 this time which Veneziano called.

The river was the Q♦ and Veneziano led out with another bet of 325,000. Kulev shipped all in for just over 900,000 and Veneziano snap-called. Kulev tabled 6x6x but Veneziano flopped a straight with 8♠6♠.

Peters Fires Three Shells

Jaffe checked to Peters who continued with a bet of 28,000 and Jaffe called. The turn was the 5♥ and Jaffe checked again. Peters sized up a bet of 115,000 this time and Jaffe still called. The river was the 10♣ and Jaffe checked for the third time. Peters used a time bank and then announced a bet of 520,000. Jaffe let his hand go this time and Peters collected the chips.

Robl Strikes Against Foxen

Kristen Foxen opened the action from early position to 12,000 and was called by Phil Ivey in middle position, Andrew Robl in late position, and Brandon Steven in the big blind.

The four players saw a flop of 3♦A♠4♦ and action was checked around to Robl, who put out a bet of 23,000. This thinned the field to just two, as only Foxen would call.

The two players would go heads-up to the K♣ turn and Foxen checked to Robl, who checked back to reveal the Q♣ river.

Foxen checked again, and this time Robl put out a bet of 20,000, to which Foxen thought about for a few moments, before making the fold.

Ivey led out with a bet of 20,000 on the turn and Schwartz stuck around for the A♥ on the river. Ivey checked this time and Schwartz fired out a bet of 30,000. Ivey looked puzzled but still called. Schwartz turned over 10♠10♦ but Ivey flopped pair of kings with K♣8♦.

Martirosian Makes a Move

Martirosian shoved all in as the bigger stack, putting Veneziano to the test for his stack of 1,069,000. Veneziano went into the tank, using three of his time banks before making the call. Martirosian tabled A♣2♣ and Veneziano threw his K♣9♦ in the air as if he lost.

"You win," Seth Davies said at the table.

"Oh," Veneziano laughed. "I was just so sure that I lost."
