Lipiner Takes From Chan

Action folded around to the blinds, where Terrence Chan raised from the small and Jason Lipiner called from the big.

Both players drew one on the first draw and Lipiner called a bet from Chan.

Chan drew one on the second draw and Lipiner drew two. Chan again bet and Lipiner again called.

On the final draw, Chan drew one and Lipiner stood pat. Action checked down and Chan announced, "Fours." Lipiner turned over 10x7x6x3x2x and dragged the pot.

Kevin Martin snapped a video from the table he was at, which he shared on Twitter Thursday, of what just might be the craziest hand played thus far at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The hand involved four premium pocket pairs and took place on Day 1 of Event #37: $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em. PokerNews' live reporting team was also at the table to record the wild action.

Rodrigues Catches Alexander

Michael Rodrigues raised on the button and was called by George Alexander in the big blind.

Both players drew two on the first draw and Santos called a bet from Alexander.

On the second draw, each player took one off and action checked through.

Both players drew one again on the final draw and Alexander went back to betting. Rodrigues called and Alexander showed 6x5x4x3x2x for a straight. Rodrigues held the 8x7x6x3x2x for an eight and dragged the pot.

Monnette Beats Negreanu; Hellmuth Out

Daniel Negreanu raised from late position and John Monnette three-bet from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Negreanu called.

Monnette took one before Negreanu took two, and then Monnette led with a bet. Negreanu raised and Monnette called to see a second draw. Monnette stood pat and then bet after Negreanu took one. Negreanu called and took one on the third draw after Monnette stood pat again. Both players checked the final draw and Monnette turned over 8x7x5x4x2x to take the pot with the number 12. Negreanu flashed the losing hand and tossed it in the muck.

Meanwhile, Phil Hellmuth was seen leaving the tournament area after he lost the last of his short stack.

Hang Soaring; Hellmuth Sinking

Phil Hellmuth raised on the button and was called by Tommy Hang in the small blind and Ren Lin in the big.

Everyone drew two on the first draw and action checked to Hellmuth, who bet. Both Hang and Lin called.

All three players drew one on the second draw, but this time Hang led out for a bet. Lin and Hellmuth called.

Hang stood pat on the final draw and both Lin and Hellmuth drew one. Hang bet once more and only Hellmuth called.

Hang tabled 7x6x5x3x2x, which got a "Seems fair," from Hellmuth as he mucked.
