On one of the first hands of the day, Max Kruse and Adam Friedman built a pot of more than 20,000 heading to the turn with the board showing 5♠7♣4♦K♠. Kruse, in the cutoff, bet 9,000 and Friedman called in the hijack.
The river came the 7♠ and Friedman moved all in. Kruse snap-called for his last 21,500 and turned over 5♥5♦ for a full house. Friedman flung his 7♥3♥ into the muck as Kruse doubled up.

Phillip Hui: A♠K♦
Nitesh Rawtani: K♣9♣
Hui had his opponent dominated and was in a great spot to double up. The 3♥J♣K♠ flop kept him ahead but the 9♥ turn suddenly left Hui on the brink. There was no further lead change after the 2♥ river completed the board, sending Hui out within the first few minutes of the day.

Philip Sternheimer opened on the button and was called by Dennis Eichhorn in the small blind.
Eichhorn check-raised a bet from Sternheimer on a flop of K♥9♣J♦ with Sternheimer making the call.
The 10♠ turn saw Eichhorn slow down, checking to Sternheimer who tossed out a bet. Eichhorn was not going anywhere just yet, committing calling chips to see a river.
Eichhorn checked after the 4♣ completed the board. Sternheimer was not willing to go to a showdown just yet, firing off one last bet, which his opponent called. Sternheimer tabled A♦K♦Q♥J♠ for broadway, prompting Eichhorn to muck his holding and send a sizable pot over to the British pro.
