Who Will Take Home the Inaugural Bracelet in Event #35: $10,000 Secret Bounty No-Limit Hold'em?
The second bounty event at the 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas begins today with Event #35: $10,000 Secret Bounty No-Limit Hold'em.
This is a brand new event for the WSOP and is expected to have a great turnout. If the success of the million dollar bounty is any indication, this may also break records. This years winner of Event #3: $1,000 Mystery Millions, Tyler Brown, took home a first place prize of $1,000,000. Will the winner of the Secret Bounty fetch a similar top prize? Only time will tell.
Along with a huge prize pool, one lucky player will also get to claim the glory of the very first bracelet in this event. Shaun Deeb just won his sixth bracelet last night. Will he fire away at the secret bounty in hopes of winning number seven? Will Josh Arieh enter and take his shot at tying Deeb's new bracelet count? All these questions will be answered and more. Don't miss your shot at one of the top prizes or top bounties.
Cards will be in the air at 12 p.m. local time and players start with 60,000 in tournament chips. Blinds start at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante and levels will be 40 minutes, with a 15-minute break at the conclusion of every three levels. There will be a 60-minute dinner break after Level 9 (≈ 6:30 p.m.). Late registration ends after 12 levels (≈ 7:30 p.m.) and players will restart Day 2 at 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, June 15th.

The clock has started and play is underway. With a starting stack of 60,000, players will be starting on level 1 with blinds at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante.
Armbrust Folds Out a Flopped Top Pair

A player in the cutoff raised to 400 finding two callers; the button and John Armbrust in the small blind.
The flop came 5♥J♠Q♥. The action checked through to the button who bet out for 1,500. Armbrust called and the original raiser folded.
The A♥ came on the turn and the action checked through to the 6♣ on the river. Armbrust seized the opportunity to take the lead and put a bet out for 1,600. His opponent didn't take long in folding the Q♣ face up and Armbrust raked in this pot.

Martirosyan's Aggression Does the Job

A player on the button raised. Artur Martirosyan responded with a three-bet from the small blind to 3,500. The player in the big blind cold called the three-bet and the original raiser stepped aside.
Heads up to the flop of 3♠10♦4♥, Martirosyan continued for 5,200. The big blind called.
On the turn came the Q♥. Martirosyan thought for some time before firing an additional 13,000 prompting a fold from his opponent.

Shouldis Drags Three Bet Pot Early

Action folded to a player on the button who opened to 600. When it folded to James Shouldis in the big blind, he didn't think for long before putting in the cold three bet to 2,400. The button made the call and the players were ready for the dealer to show them a flop.
The 10♦2♠8♣ flop hit the felt and Shouldis C-bet 1,500. The button called again.
The 9♦ turn came and Shouldis opted to slow down on this card that likely favored his opponent. Right on time the button put out a bet of 3,000. Shouldis made the call.
The 2♠ river was a blank action went check, check.
Shouldis quickly rolled over Q♣Q♠ and the button tabled 4♣4♦ for an under pair, and Shouldis dragged a nice pot to chip up early.

Blomberg Five-Bet Jams on Romanello

Roberto Romanello raised under the gun, finding Colton Blomberg on the button who three-bet to 3,000.
Romanello thought for some time before retaliating with a four-bet to 16,500.
Blomberg came back over the top with a five-bet jam for what was almost a full starting stack, forcing Romanello to fold.

Pirault Withstands the Aggression

The action folded to Francois Pirault on the button who made it 600. Next to act was Artur Martirosyan in the small blind who smooth called. The big blind got out of the way and the players were off to a flop heads up.
The J♦J♠7♦ flop hit the board and the action checked to Pirault. He pretty quickly put out a bet of 500. Martirosyan thought for a moment and opted to put in the check-raise to 2,500. Pirault made the call.
The 3♥ turn was a relative blank and Martirosyan put out another bet of 5,000. Once again, Pirault made the call.
The Q♠ river hit the board and Martirosyan thought for about a minute before checking. Pirault sat in the tank for awhile before putting out a bet of 12,000. Martirosyan folded pretty quickly and Pirault survived some early aggression from the field.
