Ho Lets it Go on the River

Nível 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Three players saw a flop of A92 and the action was checked to Maria Ho as she put out 20,000. Only Craig Varnell called.

The 10 hit the turn and both players checked to see the J on the river. Varnell fired a bet of 82,000 and Ho took a few moments before letting her hand go.

Five Shots of 1942

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Chamath Palihapitiya

With the money bubble having officially busted, there was excitement in the room as mini celebrations broke out at tables across the floor.

Early Facebook investor and avid poker enthusiast Chamath Palihapitiya was spearheading one such celebration as he flagged down a waitress, saying "Five shots of 1942 Tequila, please."

The waitress, clearly not aware of who she was speaking to, said, "Are you a Seven Star Player?" to which Palihapitiya responded by saying, "No, but I'm a seven star person." before flashing a wry smile her way.

The table laughed, Palihapitiya smiled even bigger, and the waitress was sold.

10 minutes later, the shots showed up as the electric energy in the room continued.

There really is nothing like the World Series of Poker.

Ripnick Eliminates Blair on the Bubble

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Eric Blair jammed for his last 31,000 in early position and the action folded around to Jake Ripnick in the big blind who made the call.

Eric Blair: Q10
Jake Ripnick: A3

The flop of 972, gave Ripnick a flush draw and left Blair feeling all but eliminated as he stood up from the table.

The 8 hit the turn sealing the deal, and the K river was just a formality as Blair was eliminated on the bubble.

All remaining players have locked up a min-cash of $4,800.

"No, no, no! You all go sit down!"

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to the player in the cutoff who raised to 20,000. Max Kruse three-bet shoved from the small blind for around 60,000 and with action back on the cutoff, he tossed in a call as the two players head to a runout with Kruse at risk on the stone bubble with the cutoff player offering one last, "Good luck!" as he flicked in the calling chips.

Max Kruse: AK
Cutoff: 108

The flop came 759 and provided a massive sweat to the 20 or so players gathered around the table to see if the money bubble bursts.

The 7 turn card and the A river card didn't give the result the crowd was after as Kruse stood up and wagged his finger at the onlookers saying, "No, no, no! You all go sit down now!"

For a brief moment, laughter drowned out the sound of chips being shuffled as the crowd dispersed and Kruse stacked the chips.

Set Over Set on the Stone Bubble

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Players in the $3000 6-max were on the stone bubble when Renan Aziz went all in for the remainder of his chips and his tournament life. The player next to act made the call and the cards hit their back.

Renan Aziz: JJ
Opponent: 1010

The JQ4 flop hit the felt and although Aziz hit top set he was not out of the weeds yet. His opponent still had back door flush and straight outs. Right on time the 8 hit on the turn giving his opponent a straight draw. The 10 river hit and gave his opponent a set but it wasn't enough. Aziz gets the double and would end up making the money.

Slobodskoy Calls the Clock

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

With over 300,000 in the middle, the board read 8626Q and Naor Slobodskoy jammed for 75,000. Axel Hallay went deep into the tank, apologizing for taking so long after a couple of minutes.

"Take your time," said Ryan Riess who was at the table as the bubble is approaching quickly.

"I won't call the clock," said another tablemate. However, Slobodskoy had other plans, as he called the clock immediately after.

The floor was called over and gave Hallay 30 seconds to make a decision. As he started to count down the last five seconds, Hallay dropped a chip to make the call.

Slobodskoy tabled 76 for trip sixes and Hallay exploded with disappointment, saying "I knew it," showing the 55.
