Simmons Catches Broadway to Eliminate Opponent

Action began after the turn as the board ran out 8♥Q♦10♥A♥. With Seth SImmons initially checking, his opponent fired out for 10,000. Simmons quickly raised to 50,000 causing an over the top all in from his opponent. He took little time in calling as both players revealed their hands.

The river came the 7♣ as Simmons eliminated the other player and swept the pot.

Bonomo Limps and Wins

There was a player in late position who placed one 5,000 chip in the middle. When it folded to Justin Bonomo in the small blind there appeared to have been some confusion as the player who put a 5,000 chip out meant to raise but since he did not announce, it was considered a call. Bonomo got the ruling from the dealer and opted to limp. The big blind checked and they were off to a flop of A♠5♠5♣.

Action checked to the late position player who put out a wager of 4,000. Bonomo called and the big blind folded.

The Q♠ landed on the turn and Bonomo checked over to the late position player who slowed down and checked behind.

The river 3♦ landed and Bonomo checked one more time. The in-position player checked behind and Bonomo tabled A♣3♥ for top pair and the other player mucked.

Young Gambles It Up

A player opened to 6,000 from early position and was called by a player on the button before Justin Young moved all in for 73,000 out of the small blind. The early position player rejammed with the larger stack while the button got out of the way to put Young at risk.

Young was behind with his tournament life on the line but vaulted into the lead following the 7♣J♦6♦ flop. The 10♣ turn further improved him to two pair, leaving his opponent needing to find a queen to score the knockout. The A♠ river failed to change anything, sending Young's stack shooting up the leaderboard. "I know I shouldn't've won" Young remarked as the dealer counted up his stack. Whether the result was justified or not, however, will be of little consolation to his opponent, who was left with dust as the late registration period in this, the final flight, nears its conclusion.
