Mori Eskandani Eliminated in 17th Place ($17,500)

Mori Eskandani raised and Nozomu Shimizu three-bet before Nick Pupillo four-bet to a total of 60,000. Eskandani committed the last of his chips and he was at risk for 65,000. Shimizu and Pupillo called the extra 5,000 and action was three ways.

The flop was J♥7♣9♠ and Shimizu check-called a bet from Pupillo to see the K♥ on the turn.

Both players checked the turn and Shimizu check-called again on the Q♥ river. Pupillo turned over 10♦10♠ for a straight and Eskandani showed the losing A♣Q♣ before he hit the rail in 16th place for $17,500.

Philip Sternheimer Eliminated in 18th Place ($16,000)

Louis Hillman raised on the button and was three-bet by Philip Sternheimer in the small blind. Action folded back to Hillman, who made it four bets to go. Sternheimer called all in for his remaining stack and hands were revealed.

The A♣7♥4♠ flop left Sternheimer drawing slim and the 2♦ turn left him drawing dead. An irrelevant 3♠ completed the board and Sternheimer was eliminated in 18th place.

Koray Aldemir was left short in a dust-up with Philip Sternheimer after both of the short stacks got it in against one another. Aldemir had K♣J♠ and Sternheimer had K♠Q♥. The board ran out 5♦A♣J♣10♠4♦ to give Sternheimer the straight and leave Aldemir with 6,000.

On the next hand, Aldemir committed his last 6,000 from the button. Mori Eskandani called and Ben Yu came along from the button.

Both remaining players checked through the 8♥J♣9♥2♦9♦ and the cards were turned up. Yu had A♠3♣, Eskandani had 5♦5♥, and Aldemir had A♦10♦. Eskandani took the pot with nines and fives and Aldemir hit the rail in 21st place for $16,000.

The flop came J♥4♥6♥ and Wang bet, which was enough to put Wasserson all in.

Wasserson agonized for some time before eventually committing the last of his chips to the pot.

Wasserson was drawing slim, but live.

The A♦ turn gave Wasserson a Broadway draw but the 8♥ river failed to improve Wasserson and eliminated him just shy of the money.
