Clocked Called on Keenan as He Awaits a Pay Jump

The pot stood at approximately 280,000 as two players looked at a board of 10♦Q♠K♣K♦7♠, Alexander Maas in the cutoff bet out for 100,000 into Cole Keenan on the button. Keenan reraised to to 330,000 leaving behind one 5,000 chip.

Maas put him all in and Keenan's tank began. Stalling for the pay jump, the clock was called on Keenan and he eventually placed his last chip into the pot.

Keenan's trips were no good against the second-nut straight and he left for the rail.

Barrioncanal Blasts Papadopoulos Out the Pot

A player under the gun started the hand with a raise to 50,000 called by both the blinds; Daniel Barrioncanal in the small and Kyriakos Papadopoulos in the big.

The flop came 3♣10♦J♣. All three players checked through to a turn of the 4♦. Barrioncanal took the lead for 85,000, Papadopoulos called and the original raiser folded.

The river came the 9♠ and Barrioncanal fired 220,000 for a final time. Papadopoulos sat on the decision for some time before finally settling on a fold.

Ho Chops It Up Again

Maria Ho raised 60,000 from under the gun and button Christopher Hodgson called. Big blind Cole Keenan looked at his stack and saw he had only 140,000. Then he turned and craned his head up to the game lock, watching at it for a long time. A tablemate asked what he was doing.

"I'm waiting for the payouts to scroll," said Keenan. "I need to see the pay jump."

After another moment, Keenan saw the information he was looking for and put those remaining chips all in. Ho called and Hodgson folded.

The 4♠2♠5♣10♥A♠ board did not bring enough clubs for Ho, or diamonds or hearts for Keenan, and they split the pot. And Keenan perhaps lived to make that next pay jump.

Ho Stays Alive Chopping with Edwards

The action reached Tom Edwards in the small blind who put the rest of his stack in the middle covering Ho. The hijack stepped aside and the hands were tabled.

The Two Failed Bluffs in One Week that Cost Doug Polk $700k

Chris Moneymaker had the Bluff of the Century in 2003. This past week, Doug Polk had perhaps the Failed Bluff of the Century.

On Sunday, heads-up for a bracelet, Polk bluffed off a significant portion of his stack at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) less than one week after his infamous bluff attempt that didn't get through on Hustler Casino Live's $1 million game.

In both instances, the Upswing Poker founder had a busted draw and attempted to use aggression to coerce his opponents into folding somewhat marginal holdings in massive pots. Both times, however, his efforts were unsuccessful and quite costly.

As told to Pokernews, the small blind Harrison Ashdown raised preflop and Jake Daniels in the big blind called, which was for the rest of his chips.

Keenan's Big Bluff Doesn't Fool Rossi
