Ho Chops It Up Again

Nível 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho raised 60,000 from under the gun and button Christopher Hodgson called. Big blind Cole Keenan looked at his stack and saw he had only 140,000. Then he turned and craned his head up to the game lock, watching at it for a long time. A tablemate asked what he was doing.

"I'm waiting for the payouts to scroll," said Keenan. "I need to see the pay jump."

After another moment, Keenan saw the information he was looking for and put those remaining chips all in. Ho called and Hodgson folded.

Ho: AQ
Keenan: AQ

The 42510A board did not bring enough clubs for Ho, or diamonds or hearts for Keenan, and they split the pot. And Keenan perhaps lived to make that next pay jump.

Shorr checked again on a J turn, but this time did not raise Maas' 250,000 bet. When the river came 10 both players checked. Shorr turned over Q10 for two pair. Maas flashed the J and mucked.

Maria Ho

Maria Ho open jammed the button for her last 260,000 finding a caller in David Wells in the big blind.

Maria Ho: KJ
David Wells: AQ

The flop came 2K3 as Ho pulled ahead in the showdown.

The turned J only served to improve the absolute hand strength of Ho's holding but did however give Wells outs to a gutshot straight.

The river landed the 10 as the table gasped. Wells rivered Broadway and Ho was sent to the rail.
