Schaffer Spikes River to Oust Opponent

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With roughly 50,000 in the pot on a {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop, Brian Schaffer had 25,000 over the betting line in early position and was contemplating a decision against a player in the hijack who had raised to 70,000. Shaffer moved all in and his opponent called for their stack of approximately 130,000.

Opponent: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Brian Schaffer: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Shaffer ran into his opponent's flopped top set, but he had a lot of outs. The {6-Clubs} turn changed nothing, but the {q-Spades} spiked the river to improve him to Broadway, while his opponent made his exit from the tournament.

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Carlton Tartar and Nitesh Rawtani were heads-up on a flop of {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds} when Tartar moved all in for 55,000.

"Do I want to gamble with you," Rawtani said while he considered the decision.

"The goal is to get all the chips, right," he added as he splashed in a call. He showed {j-}{10-} for a straight draw, while Tartar had {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} for top set.

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Tartar finished with a full house to double up.

D'Ambrosio Riding the Waves the of Main; Lays Down a Monster

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

Jimmy D'Ambrosio's stack has been fluctuating all day, he's been down as far as 90,000 and up as much as 260,000.

The player on his right raised from the cutoff 3,000 and D'Ambrosio didn't appreciate it.

"Raise?" asked D'Ambrosio. "I might raise, I do the raising."

D'Ambrosio made it 7,000 and the cutoff called to see the {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop.

"Check to the raiser," said the cutoff.

D'Ambrosio checked back and they saw the {5-Diamonds} turn. The cutoff checked again, prompting a 15,000 bet that won the pot for D'Ambrosio.

"If it was a bluff I'd show you," he said.

On the next hand, the same player raised the button this time and D'Ambrosio wasn't having it.

"Twice in a row?" he asked. "I gotta be honest I don't believe you."

D'Ambrosio three-bet again to 9,000 from the small blind and Andy Philachack shoved from the big for 64,000 more. D'Ambrosio went into the blender.

"I think we're dancing," he said. "Now you're putting on the fake nervousness?"

He continued to talk and count out his stack.

"You're begging me for a call," said D'Ambrosio as he folded {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} ace-queen suited. "I'm the worst."

Philachack flashed {a-Hearts} the ace of hearts.

"You think I'm shoving ace-nothing?" asked Philachack.

"Yes I think you would," said D'Ambrosio.

Pryor Wins at Showdown

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The board already showed {5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades} in a three-way way raised pot when Brian Pryor checked in the big blind, followed a second player and Ema Zajmovic on the button.

When the {2-Diamonds} hit the river, Pryor checked to the second player who bet 8,000, and both Zajmovic and Pryor called. Pryor tabled {j-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights and took down the pot as the second player held {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Zamjovic {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

Zack Applies Pressure

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Picking up the action on the turn, current WSOP POY leader Daniel Zack from middle position was involved in a hand with the small blind. With the board reading {j-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Spades} the small blind checked and Zack led out for 10,000. His opponent, after some thought, made the call.

The {j-Clubs} river paired the board and once again the small blind checked. Zack did not pause for long before pushing 30,000 into the middle, effectively forcing his opponent all in. The small blind released his hand in short order to send a sizable pot Zack's way, keeping him on course to add more points in his search for the WSOP POY title.

On a completed board of {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}, Bin Weng and Justin Jones were battling it out heads-up, blind versus blind.

"Smitty" Makes Great Laydown with Aces

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The following hand occurred recently on the PokerGO livestream with a delay...

Action was caught on a flop of {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Adam "Smitty" Smith from Barstool Sports fame was betting 4,500, about half the size of the pot, with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Wissam Gahshan made the call with a gutter ball and {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, but Bassam Elia came in for a raise to 14,500 with {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a straight. Smith made an incredible fold with the nut over pair, and Gahshan also mucked his cards.

Moshe Forces a Fold from Veliu

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Asi Moshe
Asi Moshe

A first player limped and Asi Moshe raised it to 4,000, which was called by Alida Veliu next to him and the initial player.

The flop fanned {7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and the first player open-shoved for around 27,000. Both Moshe and Veliu called. On the {2-Spades} turn, Moshe sent 50,000 in the middle, putting Veliu into a big decision for her tournament. After a few minutes, she ended up folding for the following showdown:

Asi Moshe: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Moshe had hit top two pair and the {4-Clubs} river didn't change anything to send his opponent into the rail. Veliu revealed she folded {a-}{a-}.
