Riess Crosses Ten Million

Nível 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess opened to 305,000 on the button and was called by Eldor Levysahar in the small blind and Bryan Kim in the big blind.

Levysahar and Kim checked the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop to Riess, who bet 400,000. Levysahar then check-raised to 1,100,000. Kim folded, but after some consideration, Riess called.

The turn brought the {j-Diamonds} bringing more possibilities to the board, and Levysahar led out for 600,000. Riess thought briefly then called.

The river made the board even more interesting with the {a-Spades}. Again Levysahar led out for 600,000.

Riess shook his head slightly as he pondered what to make of Levysahar's line.

"I have a very good hand," said Riess, before flicking in a call.

Levysahar showed {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for the low end of a flopped straight. Riess then happily tabled {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flopped flush, which earned him enough chips to cross the ten million chip mark in the final level of the day.

Romeira Rocks a Royal

Nível 29 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Rodolfo Romeira raised to 250,000 in middle position and was called by Brian Vazquez in the big blind.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, bringing three to a royal flush.

After Vazquez checked, Romeira put out a small bet of 175,000, which was met by a quick fold by Vazquez.

Romeira then turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, for indeed, a flopped royal flush.

Akopov Approches Ten Million

Nível 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Boris Akopov
Boris Akopov

The tournament has another contender approaching ten million chips after a large pot that took several minutes, as pay jumps get more and more significant.

On a paired flop of {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} with approximately a million in the pot already, Matthias Kribben checked his small blind and Safwane Bari checked in the big blind. Boris Akopov then bet 375,000, and after deliberation from both opponents, they each called.

The river brought the {2-Hearts}, and after Kribben checked, Bahri bet 1,200,000.

After approximately three minutes of deliberation and counting his chips, Akopov moved all in. Kribben folded quickly, but after Bahri requested a count and the dealer counted Akopov's stack, then re-confirmed a total of 4,700,000 total, Bahri took some more time to think before ultimately folding and sending a huge pot across the table to Akopov.

Kim Triples Up With Kings

Nível 28 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Don Bliss opened to 250,000 from late position and Michael Thach called from the cutoff. Joon Kim shoved for 1,925,000 and was instantly called by Bliss. Thach would go into the tank for a little over a minute before making the call.

Don Bliss: {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Joon Kim: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Michael Thach: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Kim was miles ahead with his pocket kings and would hold on the nine-high board, eliminating Bliss and taking Thach down to 4,400,000.
