Elimelech Takes One from Van Fleet

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Jon Van Fleet opened to 25,000 and Raz Elimelech three-bet to 60,000 next to him. It came back to Van Fleet who took a minute and made the call.

The flop fanned {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Van Fleet check-called Elimelech for 30,000.

Both checked on the {3-Diamonds} turn and {k-Hearts} river and Van Fleet tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Elimelech, who revealed {a-Spades}{8-Spades} for a pair of eights on the flop, took down the pot.

Stoebe Cracks Kings and Doubles Up

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A player opened to 25,000 and Derrick Stoebe called in the cutoff to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. The initial player continued for 40,000 and Stoebe shoved for 240,000. His opponent tanked a minute and made the call.

Derrick Stoebe: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Stoebe had hit a pair of aces and the rest of the board didn't change anything with the {q-Spades} turn and {5-Clubs} river to give the double up to Stoebe.

Pirault Doubles Up

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

After the cutoff put in a raise to 26,000, French Winamax Team Pro Francois Pirault put in the call from the big blind. As the flop was being dealt, the cutoff asked Pirault how much he had behind. The answer to which was 59,000.

On the {9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop, Pirault checked to his opponent, who thought just briefly before announcing he was all in and pushing a stack of red chips into the middle, more than enough to cover Pirault, who quickly made the call.

Francois Pirault: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Pirault was ahead with his pair of aces, and the board would brick out for his opponent, securing the pot and double up for Pirault.

Eric Eklund: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Lily Kiletto: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The board revealed {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, giving a pair of jacks on the river to Eklund to get the double up he needed.

Russell Hits River to Triple Up

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Vincent Russell
Vincent Russell

Details of this hand were provided to PokerNews after the fact courtesy of Vincent Russell.

Russell moved all in from under the gun with 168,000 behind. A few seats to his left, a player rejammed for around 200,000. The big blind called with both of them covered.

Vincent Russell: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Opponent 1: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Big blind: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Russell was ahead, but that changed quickly when the {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop gave both of his opponents top pair. The {4-Spades} turn was of no help to Russell, who was drawing to a two outer to make a set of nines in order to stay alive in the tournament. He managed to hit a miracle {9-Spades} on the river, giving him a set and the best hand. He raked in the pot, tripling his stack.

Another player at the table claimed to have folded the {9-Clubs}, although others around the table said they were uncertain if they should believe him. If true, Russell was drawing even thinner than previously thought.
