Kessler Finds The Rail

Nível 19 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Allen Kessler was all-in on the button for his remaining 204,000 which was called by Eric Tipsword who opened the pot from early position.

Eric Tipsword {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

The flop of {7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} was a wet one with Kessler still slightly in the lead.

When the turn brought the {10-Spades} and the meaningless {3-Hearts} river sent Kessler to the payout desk.

"The PokerNews curse is real" said Kessler jokingly as he exited the room.

Francois Pirault just the left this Day 1a in 276th place.

After a shove from a player in early position, Pirault discovered a {8-}{8-} with eight blinds left, and he decided to call.

His opponent tabled {k-}{k-} and the river ran out with no help for Pirault to stay in the tournament.

Chop It Up

Nível 19 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

After a raise from Tyler Patterson to 60,000, early position, Kiny Lee called from the hi-jack, initiated by Anthony Askey on the button and the player in the big blind.

Everybody checkeded to the river on a {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. At this point, Patterson decided to lead 100,000. Askey was the only one to call and both players finally split the pot, after Patterson showed {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Askey showed {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Corrigan Doubles Through Kessler

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The hijack opened for 25,000, Jack Corrigan then moved all-in for 109,000 preflop and Allan Kessler announced he was all-in too. ''All-in and a call'', the seasoned vet called to the PokerNews staff.

When the original raiser got out of the way, Corrigan tabled his {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, which was behind Allen Kessler's {a-Spades}{j-Spades}.

But the board ran well for Corrigan, coming {4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to more than double him up.

Guilherme Soares Eliminated Three Players

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Crazy action on table 419 led to three eliminations.

Gregory Hugues announced all in for almost 200,000 from the hi-jack. Just after him, Iskra Astudillo announced all in for 100,000. It was Guilherme Soares to talk and he announced all-in for 400 000... before Stephen Coughlan went all-in for 300,000.

Iskra Astudillo {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Gregory Hughes {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board came {7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Soares Aces finally held. He eventually busted three players and became a new millionaire.

Heroic Call By Cruey

Nível 18 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

There was already about 300,000 in the pot with the river showing {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} when Matthew Wantman cut out a bet of 170,000. His opponent Ned Cruey called after a moment.

Wantman tabled his {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for nothing but a busted flush draw. Cruey triumphantly revealed his {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a pair of fours to drag the huge pot.

Cruey, a local author, sat back in his seat and raised his hands into the air happily.

"What a call," said Wantman a few moments later.
