Delacombaz Survives on the Bubble

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On the second round of hand-for-hand play, Christian Delacombaz was all in for 60,000 from the small blind and up against the player on the button.

Christian Delacombaz: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Button: {j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Delacombaz took a big lead in the hand as the {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop gave him top pair, but the button picked up some outs on the {7-Spades} turn.

The {k-Clubs} river was safe and Delacombaz survived.

There was one elimination across six all ins during that round as the field was narrowed to 721 players.

Break Time

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The remaining players have been sent on another 20-minute break. They will return to blinds of 4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 big blind ante. With just 723 players left, bubble play is sure to commence soon.

Shak Gets the Maximum With Rockets

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Dan Shak opened to 16,000 from the cutoff and action folded to the small blind, who three-bet enough to effectively put Shak all in. Shak responded by pushing the remainder of his chips into the middle and the small blind made the call with the larger stack to put Shak at risk.

Dan Shak: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Small Blind Player: {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Though Shak was at risk, he was way ahead of his opponent. The {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop changed nothing and the {2-Clubs} wrapped up the hand as Shak starting counting out his stack while the meaningless {j-Hearts} river was dealt. The rest of the table seemed to think Shak had been handed an absolute gift, with one player remarking that Shak "hasn't raised since Lincoln died". Certainly a double this close to the money bubble is a gift no matter how it comes.

Bourgeois Flips Out Cantu

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Brandon Cantu raised to 13,000 from the cutoff before Blaise Bourgeois three-bet to 40,000. Cantu then shoved for 125,000 and Bourgeois snap-called.

Brandon Cantu: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Blaise Bourgeois: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

It was a classic flip, one the bracelet winner would not come out on the right side of. The {k-Diamonds} came on the flop to give Bourgeois a pair of kings, and the rest of the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

Bourgeois got up from his seat and gave a big fist pump when the river was dealt. After Cantu had walked away, even the dealer gave Bourgeois a big "woo."
