Top Two Good for Mezrich

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Ari Mezrich
Ari Mezrich

A player in late position opened to 800 and was called by Ari Mezrich in the small blind as well as the big blind player.

Action checked through the {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop to the {k-Clubs} turn. Both blinds checked again but this time the late position player did not check behind, instead firing off a delayed continuation of 1,600. Mezrich called and the big blind folded to send action heads up to the river.

On the {a-Hearts} river Mezrich led out for 1,100 and was quickly called by his opponent. Mezrich, who at last year's WSOP finished second in Event #8: $600 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack for a career best $173,960, turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for top two pair, good enough to scoop the pot.

Bourgeois Getting No Action

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

PokerNews's Blaise Bourgeois is currently sitting on 31,000, but he feels like it could've been a whole lot more.

"I flopped sets two out of three hands and got no action. I'm so mad," Bourgeois said.

Bourgeois said he flopped a set of sixes and received no callers, then a few hands later had pocket threes on a board of {10-}{8-}{3-} with two diamonds and, again, everyone folded.

"My set equity is gone. I need to save my sets for Level 21," he added.

Kirchhoff Sends an Opponent Deep in the Tank

Nível 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Brian Kirchhoff three-bet to 3,200 from the small blind and the original raiser called in the hijack.

Heads up to a {3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, Kirchhoff continued for 2,600 before his opponent raised to 6,000.

Kirchhoff called and they both checked the {q-Spades} turn. The river came the {5-Diamonds} and Kirchhoff threw in two orange 5,000 chips, announcing he was all in for 17,000.

The hijack went into the tank, muttering to himself the possibilities of what Kirchhoff could have. At one point, he picked up his stack and started playing with his chips in his hand.

After about three minutes, he decided to uncap his cards and slid them into the muck

"I felt like you didn't have it. It didn't make any sense," he said as the pot was pushed in Kirchhoff's direction.

Aldridge Loses One Early

Nível 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player in middle position opened to 700 and was called by a player in late position and Ken Aldridge out of the small blind.

Aldridge checked to the middle position player on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and the initial raiser continued for 1,000. Both the late position player and Aldridge called to keep action three-handed headed to the turn.

Aldridge took the betting lead on the {7-Spades} turn, betting out 1,300. That was enough to get the middle position player to fold but the player in late position was going nowhere and made the call.

The {k-Diamonds} river did nothing to convince Aldridge to slow down as he fired off another bet, this time sizing down to 1,100. His opponent thought for a little while before making the call. Aldridge showed down {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a pair but it was no good as the late position player flipped over {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for turned trips.

Lin Takes a Seat, Snaps Off an Opponent

Nível 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Ren Lin has entered the tournament early on Level 2 and is already taking down pots.

In his last hand, Lin and an opponent went heads up to a {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop in a blind versus blind confrontation. The small blind bet 800 and Lin called.

Both players checked the {3-Diamonds} turn before the small blind threw out another 600 on the {q-Hearts} river.

Lin snap-called as his opponent turned over {k-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a pair of threes. Lin, though, had {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a pair of aces to take down the early pot.

Di Santo Shoves the River

Nível 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

Three players, including Fabrizio Di Santo in the small blind, put in 1,100 and saw a flop of {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Di Santo led out for 2,000 and the player in the big blind called, while the button got out of the way.

The turn came the {6-Diamonds} and Di Santo bet another 7,000. The big blind called again and they went heads up to the {4-Hearts} river.

Di Santo announced he was all in for his last 15,000 before his opponent quickly mucked. Di Santo flashed the {q-Diamonds} as he took the pot.
