Chan Pressures Scott

Nível 27

Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Lok Chan raised to 120,00 and Drew Scott called from the big blind. Both players drew one.

Chan bet the pot after the first draw and Scott called 280,000. Both players took one on the second draw.

After the second draw, Chan bet the pot again and placed eight T-100,000 chips into the middle. It was too much for Scott and he got away from it before the third draw.

Smith Draws a Double

Nível 27

No-Limit Five Card Draw High

Lok Chan raised to 130,000 and quickly called when Christopher Smith moved all in for his last 315,000. Smith drew three and Chan took one, before both players turned over their hands.

Christopher Smith: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} / {x-}{x-}{x-}
Lok Chan: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} / {x-}

Smith turned his cards over one at a time, needing to find a king or a pair after revealing the {4-Clubs} and {2-Spades}. In a swift motion, Smith flipped over the {2-Hearts} to make a better two pair, and Chan was unable to improve with the {j-Hearts} giving Smith the double.

Smith then three-bet all in on the very next hand adding even more chips to his stack.

Galen Hall Eliminated in 6th Place ($22,617)

Nível 27
Galen Hall
Galen Hall

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Christopher Smith raised to 120,000 from the cutoff and Drew Scott called from the small blind. Galen Hall shoved his last 150,000 from the big blind and both Smith and Scott called.

The flop was {2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and both remaining players checked to see {q-Hearts} on the turn. Scott fired a pot bet of 490,000 and Smith ducked out of the way.

Hall turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, but Scott had {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} for the wheel. The river was {8-Hearts} and Hall was eliminated from the tournament in sixth place for $22,617.

Aaron Kupin Eliminated in 7th Place ($16,777)

Nível 27
Aaron Kupin
Aaron Kupin

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Rami Boukai opened under the gun to 125,000 and was called by Drew Scott on the button and Galen Hall in the small blind. Aaron Kupin then committed the rest of his short stack in a four-way pot.

Hall, Boukai and Scott all drew one, while Kupin slid three cards into the middle. The action checked around and Boukai announced "queen" before Scott mucked.

Aaron Kupin: {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-} / {x-}
Rami Boukai: {q-}{8-}{4-}{3-}{2-}
Galen Hall: {8-}{6-}{5-}{2-}{2-}

Hall's pair of deuces was no good, while Kupin peeled his final draw card needing any non-paired card lower than a queen. Kupin flipped over a queen, ending his run to the final table in seventh place.

Hellmuth Controversy: Poker Brat's Chips Swiped on Break

Nível 27
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Controversy struck the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #38: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw Championship when Phil Hellmuth went on break only to discover his chips had been swiped by defending champion Farzad Bonyadi, who wasn't at-fault in the incident.

On break, as the tournament dwindled down to 21 players, the staff broke the fourth table, leaving just three remaining tables. When the "Poker Brat" returned, he noticed his chips were gone and that they had somehow ended up in Bonyadi's possession.

Immediately after the situation arose, the WSOP staff approached the table to investigate. There was no doubt that Hellmuth had a stack in play before leaving the table, but it wasn't clear the exact size of his stack. The surveillance camera was reviewed to determine the size of Hellmuth's stack, which the 16-time bracelet winner estimated was more than 130,000.

While the investigation occurred, PokerNews spoke with Hellmuth to hear his side of the story.

Boukai Raises the River

Nível 26

Big O

Rami Boukai limped from the small blind and Michael Trivett checked his option to the {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. Boukai led for 40,000 and was called by Trivett to see the {2-Clubs} turn.

Boukai checked to Trivett, who fired 150,000. Boukai did not take long before moving all in for his remaining 520,000 chips. Trivett mucked, and Boukai took it down.
