Steaming Hellmuth Wins Two in a Row

Phil Hellmuth and Eric Wasserson both drew two.

"This is where I make a wheel and he calls with a nine," said Hellmuth, both players checked.

Hellmuth drew one and Wasserson two. Hellmuth bet and Wasserson called. On the end, Hellmuth stood pat and Wasserson drew one.

"Let's hope this isn't a nine," said Wasserson, and he folded when the Poker Brat put out a bet.

On the next hand Andrew Kelsall raised from the button and Daniel Zack reraised from the small blind. Hellmuth cold-called from the big blind and Kelsall also called.

The three players checked and Zack and Hellmuth drew two, while Kelsall drew one. Zack checked to Hellmuth who bet, and forced both opponents to fold.

Wasserson Leaves Raging Hellmuth Short

Phil Hellmuth opened under the gun and was called by Eric Wasserson on the button. The blinds got out of the way to send the two players heads up to the initial draw.

On the first draw Hellmuth took one card while Wasserson drew two. Hellmuth then led into Wasserson, who made the call.

The second draw saw both players stand pat after which Hellmuth check-called a bet from Wasserson.

Hellmuth discarded the face up during the final draw and Wasserson again stood pat. Hellmuth checked and then instantly folded to a bet from Wasserson, who showed the table he held , prompting Hellmuth to exclaim, "The one guy who overplays his fucking hands against me makes the fucking wheel!"

Hastings drew three and Deeb drew two. Hastings check-called a bet.

The draws decreased by one apiece, with Hastings drawing two and Deeb one. Again, Hastings check-called a bet.

On the end Hastings drew one and Deeb stood pat. This time Hastings check-folded and Deeb took down the pot.

Ali Eslami in the big blind was involved in a hand with Daniel Zack on the button.

On the first draw, Eslami took two cards while Zack drew one. Eslami then checked to Zack, who threw out a bet and was called.

Eslami took another two cards on the second draw and again Zack drew just one. Eslami checked for a second time and called off for his tournament life after Zack pushed enough chips into the middle to put him all in.

Zack stood pat on the final draw and tabled . Eslami was drawing but could not find the help he needed to beat Zack's ten. After saying "good game" to the table, Eslami made his way to the payout desk.

Marco Johnson drew two and Shaun Deeb drew one. Johnson check-called a bet.

Johnson drew two again with Deeb standing pat. Again Johnson called a bet.

Johnson drew one and Deeb stood pat. Both players checked.

"You got it," said Johnson.

"Turn it up," said Deeb, and Johnson tabled . Deeb showed and won the pot.

"Just to be clear," said Johnson. "If it goes check-check and I say 'You got it' you want me to turn my hand up?"

"Draws are very important Marco," replied Deeb.

Eslami Finds Early Double

Ali Eslami opened from under the gun and was three-bet by Daniel Zack on the button.

Eslami took one card to Zack's two on the initial draw, after which he check-called a bet from Zack.

On the second draw the same drawing pattern was repeated and action checked through to the final draw, where Eslami stood pat and Zack took one more card. Eslami then moved all in and was called by Zack. Eslami tabled , which was good enough to secure the early double up on Day 3.
