Kirshak Wins A Big One

Nível 1 : 100/100, 100 ante

A hand was picked up on the river between Chris Kirshak in the cutoff and a player in the small blind, with a sizable pot having already inflated.

The board read {2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and with roughly 4,000 in the pot, the small blind led out for 2,500. With action on Kirshak, he raised to 12,700 and his opponent went into the tank.

After roughly a minute, the small blind called and Kirshak turned over {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a turned straight, which was good for the pot as his opponent mucked.

Just afterwards, Frank Stepuchin and Tim McDermott sat down at the same table.

Carlos Chang
Carlos Chang

Today kicks off Day 1 of Event #3: $2,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em as well the first open buy-in under $100,000 dollars. Play of this three-day event will begin at 11 A.M at Bally’s and Paris, Las Vegas.

Last year saw Carlos Chang defeat Brady Osterman after a heads-up battle that took over three hours. Chang took home his first bracelet for a first place prize of $364,589, besting a field of 896 entrants.

It is unknown as to how big the field will be but many players have confirmed their presences, with Chang expected to make a run at defending his title, as well as other players throwing their hat in the ring like Renato Spahiu, WSOP bracelet winners Dejuante Alexander, Cole Ferraro and Ryan Laplante, and many more.

Players will begin with 35,000 in chips with blinds starting at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Blinds will increase every 40 minutes with a 20-minute break after every three levels. After level 9, there will be a 75-minute dinner break and once that break is finished(around 6:55 P.M.), registration will be closed for the tournament. The remaining players will play until level 17, then bag up for Thursday June 2nd, where they will return at 12 P.M.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the updates for the entire 2022 World Series of Poker at Bally’s and Paris.
