Badacey

With multiple bets each in front of Phil Hellmuth, Maxx Coleman, and Kristijonas Andrulis, three huge hands were revealed, with Andrulis coming away with the best of it.

Kristijonas Andrulis: {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Maxx Coleman: {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Phil Hellmuth: {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Andrulis nabbed half the pot with an ace-to-five wheel, while Coleman and Hellmuth would have to settle for a quarter each with their matching five-four-two-one Badugis.

Gamble spiked the {4-} to lock up the double while Claassen paired his {5-} to drop just behind Gamble on the leaderboard.

Deeb On the Rise Early On

Badeucey

Eli Elezra and Jesse Klein have been eliminated early on Day 2 and the latter fell to Shaun Deeb in a Badeucey hand. Klein was already out of his chair and studied his cards while Deeb tabled the {8-Clubs} / {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a Six-Dugi and an eighty-six, which was good enough to scoop the entire pot. It appears that Klein had an eighty-seven but he only flashed the cards briefly before tossing them into the muck.

Day 2 of Event #10: $10,000 Dealer's Choice 6-Handed Championship Restarts at 2pm Local Time

Jean-Robert Bellande
Jean-Robert Bellande

The 2022 WSOP at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas is gearing up for the conclusion of the most challenging mixed game competition and the registration for Event #10: $10,000 Dealer's Choice 6-Handed Championship will close when Day 2 gets underway at 2pm local time.

For the first time since 2018, the winner of this very event will not be Adam Friedman after the champion of the last three editions was eliminated on Day 1 and won't be able to claim the title for the fourth time in a row.

So far, the tournament has attracted 113 entries in this freezeout format and that makes it the third-biggest field thus far. However, a potential record would require only ten new entries prior to the start at 2pm local time and several high-profile mixed game players could still join the fray.

Leading the 51 Day 1 survivors into the penultimate tournament day is Portuguese mixed game specialist Joao Vieira with a stack of 425,000 and he is closely followed by Mike Gorodinsk with 401,500. Another trio of players is closely bunched together including Nacho Barbero (269,500), Richard Ashby (250,500) and Jean-Robert Bellande (249,000).

The overnight top ten also includes the likes of Naoya Kihara and Ian O'Hara with Jeff Madsen and David Benyamine trailing only a few big bets behind. Multiple bracelet winners Shaun Deeb (162,500) and Phil Hellmuth (87,000) will also aim to add the title to their resume and finish one spot higher with Friedman now out of the equation. Unlike his last minute entry prior to the start of Day 2 in 2021, 16-time WSOP bracelet winner Hellmuth this time entered in the final levels on Day 1 and returns with a small profit.

All last minute additions to the field will enter Day 2 with a stack of 60,000 in the Paris Ballroom in which the action resumes at 2pm local time. The returning limits for flop, stud and draw games will be 4,000-8,000 while the no-limit and pot-limit games recommence at blinds of 1,000-2,000. In total, there are 20 different variants in the rotation and the player on the button gets to pick the game every orbit.

As of Day 2, the levels will last 90 minutes each and seven of them are scheduled for today with a 15-minute break after every level and a 60-minute break upon completion of level 14.

Stay tuned right here on PokerNews as the live reporting team will deliver all the mixed game action to your screens en route to crowning a new champion in Event #10: $10,000 Dealer's Choice 6-Handed Championship.
