Higgins Picks Up Aces Over Big Slick to Double

Nível 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Matthew Higgins was down to a short stack and got the rest of his chips in against an opponent.

Matthew Higgins: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The flop all but secured the double as it came {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}, and the {j-Spades} turn and {5-Spades} river confirmed the double as the remaining players near the bubble.

Action folded around to the blinds, where Chang Luo called from the small blind and Mickael Lacaze checked his option in the big.

Luo checked to Lacaze on the {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop and he bet 15,000. Luo then check-raised to 46,000 and Lacaze let his hand go after a bit of thought.

Ben Yu: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Conrad doubled with aces and queens.

"I just can't beat you," Yu said with a smile on the face, to which Conrad replied "first time you tried though, the cockroach is still here."

Johnnie Moreno open-shoved a stack of 102,000 from early position and the action folded around to the big blind.

The big blind peeked at his cards one at a time and then entered the tank before making a decision less than a hundred players off of the money bubble.

"I'll only show if you fold face-up," Moreno told his opponent. "But I won't show if you fold face-down."

The opponent opted to fold face-up and showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}, while Moreno held {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

Qu Can't Bluff Kniep

Nível 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Andreas Kniep was seen sporting a stack of around 1,130,000 which was a huge improvement on the 289,200 he started the day with and Keyu Qu said that 300,000 of that was his.

"280,000 only," Kniep replied with a smile.

He then raised to 12,000 from the middle position and Qu made the call from the cutoff.

"Revenge time!" Qu said before Kenneth Johnson called from the button while the blinds folded.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, Kniep continued with a bet of 30,000 which was called by both Qu and Johnson.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and Kniep opted to check. Qu fired a bet of 56,000 over the line for only Kniep to call.

The river completed the board with the {6-Clubs} and Kniep checked for the final time. Qu barreled a bet of 88,000 into the pot and Kniep almost instantly called.

"Nine-high... I am done trying to bluff you!" Qu said in despair.

Kniep waited and didn't respond before Qu flashed a {9-Spades}. Kniep tabled the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for the pair of jacks to claim the pot.

"You can write he tried to bluff me the whole day!" Kniep said to the PokerNews team.

"This is my last try for today," Qu responded.

"Until the next hand..." Kniep quipped.

The action folded to the button who raised it up and Stephen Song three-bet to 55,000 from the small blind. His opponent called and they went heads-up to a flop of {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Song led out with a bet of 41,000 and his opponent called to see the {5-Diamonds} on the turn.

Song fired out another bet of 140,000 and his opponent still called. The {q-Clubs} paired the board on the river and Song thought for a couple of minutes before reaching back for a bet of 350,000. That sent his opponent deep into the tank for at least five minutes. He eventually decided to lay his hand down and Song dragged in a massive pot.

As his opponent mumbled to himself for a few seconds, Song finally spoke up. "I probably had it," he chuckled. "I didn't have quads tho."

Lewis Check-Raises Turn

Nível 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With a pot of about 140,000 and a board of {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades}, Toby Lewis was in the big blind and checked. A player in middle position bet 85,000, and Lewis thought about his options before deciding to raise to 300,000. His opponent surrendered his hand.

Lewis took the pot without a showdown and flipped over the {10-Hearts}, just to leave his opponent wondering.
