Yunis Gets Caught Bluffing a Small One

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The board showed {j-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{j-Spades} with about 18,000 in the middle. Nick Yunis bet 8,000 and was called.

"King-high," said Yunis.

His opponent turned over {k-}{k-} and dragged the pot.

Aces Hold for Fredensburg

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Chase Fredensburg raised to 3,000 under the gun and Maxwell Green three-bet to 9,400 from a couple of spots over. The action folded back around to Fredensburg, and he thought about it for about twenty seconds before deciding to call.

The dealer fanned a flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Green jammed his remaining 27,000 in the middle and Fredensburg snap-called.

Maxwell Green: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Chase Fredensburg: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Fredensburg was ahead with his pocket aces and was able to fade the flush draw as the board completed with the {7-Spades} on the turn and the {10-Spades} on the river.

Powers Pushes Through With Rockets

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

There was heads-up action between Vegas local David Powers from under the gun and one other from middle position.

With a completed board of {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades} showing and roughly 50,000 already in the middle, Powers led out with an all in 21,400 bet.

His opponent went into the tank recalculating previous action and their final decision was to let go of their hand.

Powers quickly tabled {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and collected the pot.

Hellmuth Just Wants to Rock and Roll

At the feature table, which will live stream on PokerGO, 16-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth went to put headphones on and a production assistant (PA) waved him down subtly, to tell him he’s not allowed to wear headphones. Hellmuth looked annoyed

“Are you sure”, he asked.

The PA responded, “I'm positive”.

Phil took off the headphones and looked annoyed and displeased.

Minutes later the PA called the tournament manager, who consulted with the higher-ups, over and he went tableside to clarify for Hellmuth that he can wear his headphones at a feature table but not a final table. He also noted that Hellmuth can’t have his cell phone at the table and would need to step off the platform/stage to use his phone.

Moments later the tournament manager returned again after consulting with PokerGo production and the WSOP director. He explained to Hellmuth that they were in a tricky position and weren't going to enforce no headphones, but that the issue has to do with camera/production picking up music from headphones, which they aren't licensed to have on the stream.

He left it at that. There was no final or official decision made about the headphones other than explaining to Hellmuth why there was an issue hoping he’d make the right decision or be mindful of audio issues.

Hellmuth was understanding and respectfully said, “You’re just doing your job. And you're doing a good job at doing your job.”

Lee Rivers a Set to Survive

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The chips all entered the pot pre-flop and it was Jeaho Lee and his pocket {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} in the lead versus the {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} held by his opponent.

The dealer spread the flop of {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Lee remained ahead.

The turn card was the {k-Hearts} and Lee's opponent catapulted into the lead.

The river card, however, was the miraculous {a-Hearts} and Lee survived his all-in and doubled up.

Smith Outruns Shevlyakov's Set on the River

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Aleksandr Shevlyakov bet 16,000 on a board of {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} before Dusti Smith moved all in for her last 28,000 from the hijack. Shevlyakov waited until the dealer was finished counting Smith's stack before throwing in a chip to call.

Dusti Smith: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Aleksandr Shevlyakov: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Smith had flopped top two pair, but Shevlyakov had the lead with a set of sixes. The river brought the {10-Diamonds}, improving Smith to a full house and securing her the double up.

"The poker gods are looking after you," a tablemate said to her after the hand.
