Evanier Drops One After Race

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player from early position open-jammed for their last 7,600 and only Marc Evanier called from the hijack.

Opponent: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Marc Evanier: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

"Classic race, good luck to you sir," Evanier said to his opponent as the dealer quickly ran out a {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Spades} board ending their tournament.

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi raised to 1,000 in early position and got 3 callers, one on the button. The small blind re-raised to 5,200 and action went back to Mizzi who four-bet to 16,800 which folded action back around to the small blind who called.

The flop came out {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Mizzi who went all-in on the flop for more than the opponents 23,000 stack, which the opponent called.

Opponent: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Sorel Mizzi: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

The turn of {6-Clubs} did not change anything, but the river {k-Diamonds} gave Mizzi kings and sixes for the best hand and the opponent was eliminated from the tournament.

Aridgides Flops Set to Crack Aces

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Mark Aridgides was in position in a heads-up pot on a board of {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs} with around 35,000 in the middle.

Aridgides' opponent checked and he bet 25,000 to put his opponent all-in. The opponent called off with around 15,000 in his stack.

Aridgides showed {7-}{7-} for a flopped set to send his opponent, who showed {a-}{a-}, to the rail.

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Alex Haro, who finished 19th in the Main Event in 2018, raised to 1,000 from early position and was called by Daniel Rezaei on the button. "Go ahead," Haro said on the {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, checking to Rezaei who bet 1,000.

Haro called and pointed at Rezaei on the {a-Diamonds} turn to signify it was his turn. Rezaei checked behind to see the {8-Diamonds} on the river.

Haro tossed in two 1,000 chips and Rezaei quickly folded.

Young Mistaken for Rast

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

The player under the gun limped. The action folded to the player on the button and he called. Brian Rast came along in the small blind and the big blind completed the action.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and the action checked through.

The player under the gun put out a bet of 1,000 when it was checked to him on a {9-Hearts} turn. Only Rast called.

The river was the {5-Hearts}. Rast took the betting lead and tossed out 6,700. His opponent folded and he scooped a small pot.

Just before the hand, Justin Young was heard by PokerNews sharing a story relative to his table mate Brian Rast.

"A fan confused me for you and wanted an autograph," said Young. "I told him that I wasn't you but he didn't believe me... so I signed as Brian Rast."

The table laughed along with Rast.

Shahbaz Gets There

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Kayvon Shahbaz walked PokerNews through a massive hand he was in where he stacked an opponent.

Facing a late-position open and a flat-call, Shahbaz three-bet to 3,500 in the big blind to get to hand heads-up.

Shahbaz led out with a bet of 4,000 on the flop reading {3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and called when his opponent raised to 10,000.

Shahbaz checked on the {q-Clubs} turn and his opponent fired a bet of 29,000. Shahbaz ripped in the rest of his stack and the opponent called.

Shahbaz had {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a set of queens but was behind the straight of his opponent with {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. But the river brought the {3-Diamonds} to pair the board and give Shahbaz a boat to win the massive pot.
