Nível 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was picked up on the turn with a board reading {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} with cards on their backs with Kenny Hallaert and another player with a shorter stack all-in:

Opponent: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Kenny Hallaert: {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Hallaert had two pair with a straight draw, but his opponent had a flush draw and counterfeit outs. The river {4-Hearts} was none of those however and Hallaert scooped the pot to put his stack up to 131,000.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was picked up on a flop four ways reading {6-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

Action was on Shannon Shorr who bet 1,100 which was raised by an opponent in later position to 4,500. Action folded around to Shorr who called.

The turn came an {a-Hearts} which Shorr led out for 6,700 and the opponent quickly called.

The river came an {8-Hearts} and Shorr bet 30,000 which was enough to put his opponent all-in and the opponent quickly folded after saying that he flopped a set.

At another table, Craig Varnell was seen getting up from his seat. He will not be able to re-enter because it is his second bullet.

Day 1 Of Event #72: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha(8-Handed) Begins At 3 P.M.

Jerry Odeen
Jerry Odeen

In 2019, Jerry Odeen outlasted 1,250 entrants to take down his first bracelet as well as $304,793 in this event. The event played over the course of four days, and the final table contained many well-known pros like Luc Greenwood and bracelet winner Ayaz Mahmood, but it was Odeen who bested Kevin Linton heads up for the gold. Will this final table see the return of any of these players? Will a new player make his name known in this event? How many entrants will this get? Time will answer all of these questions.

Players will buy in to get 25,000 in starting chips and will sit down at tables 8-handed, with the game switching between No-Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha every eight hands. Blinds will start at 100/100 with levels escalating every 40-minutes today and every 60-minutes on the following days.

Play is scheduled to go over three days, with players today playing 15 levels with 15-minute breaks after every three levels. Late registration is open until level until after the ninth level which will fall around 9:45 P.M. This is a tournament with a single re-entry so players will have the option to rebuy before this time as well.

Stay tuned to Pokernews.com for more updates on this tournament and the remainder of the 52nd World Series of Poker at The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
